Jojo McGlaston, 6-5 explosive wing from Utah State w/2 years of eligibility, just committed to Bradley, per a source. Immediately eligible.

He spent the 2 years at Utah State and was at Diablo Valley College last year

McGlaston is a 6'5" guard averaged 5.6 pts, 3 rbs, and 1.9 assists while shooting 32% from the field, 33% from 3 and 62% from the free throw line in the 2014-2015 season at Utah State

Everything I found said he transferred to Diablo Valley college, but he was not listed on their roster for last year so I am not sure.

He is eligible immediately since he is a juco graduate. He attended Diablo Valley College for 2015-16, where he did not play. As a juco grad, he has 2 years of eligibility remaining. He is originally from Dublin High School in the SF Bay area of California.

Stats for his 2 seasons at Utah State-

Here is a YouTube highlight video (sorry if it was already posted) from high school, and he looks pretty impressive. He is a wiry left hander-

Many fans, including myself, were hoping for a lights-out perimeter shooter.
Well, JoJo probably isn't that lights-out shooter, but here are some interesting numbers-

At Utah State, in 2014-15 he was 21-63 from three (33.3%) and in 2013-14 he was 9-21 from three (42.9%).
His combined three point shooting in his 2 seasons at Utah State was 30-84.
That is 35.7% from three.

That may not sound great, but it would have been the best 3-point percentage on Bradley's team last year (2015-16).

In fact, the 35.7% would have been the best 3-point percentage on the 2014-15 team-
http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209766930&DB_OEM_ID=3400

And the best on the 2013-14 team-
http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209304392&DB_OEM_ID=3400

And better than anyone on the 2012-13 team [except for Tyshon Pickett's limited stats (6-13)]-
http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205731544&DB_OEM_ID=3400

And it was better than anyone on the 2011-12 team-
http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205332886&DB_OEM_ID=3400

The last Bradley guard who shot better that JoJo's 3-point percentage was Andrew Warren in Jim Les' last season, 2010-2011

Ironically, Dub suggested a comparison to Chris Roberts, who played at Bradley in 2008-09 and 2009-10. Chris' 3-point stats in his 2-year career was 70-196, which is exactly the same 35.7% that JoJo McGlaston shot in his 2 seasons at Utah State. I'll take that, but hopefully, JoJo's best years are ahead of him!

I was at Childers for breakfast this morning and saw the coaching staff with a recruit that looked a lot like JoJo, I was wondering if they were closing the deal on a recruit. Welcome to BU JoJo!

You could have had the scoop on everyone! I suspect you are right and he must have been visiting Bradley's campus.

Like the fact that our classes are a little more balanced out now. Looking forward to JoJo rocking the rims at Carver Arena for the next 2 years. With all of the new additions we're certainly becoming more of an athletic team, which is what BW's teams were at Wisconsin-Green Bay. The jury is still out if that translates into better shooting and more wins.

I like this one a lot - nicely kept under wraps 'til sealed....
This is the kind of player that people look forward to watching - I wish him great success at Bradley!!

I believe Jojo is the first Northern California product since Zach Andrews & Lawrence Wright - also both extremely athletic kids...
..and McGlaston is a lefty like Boogie...and like Zach- Jojo has already had one ESPN SportsCenter #1 play on their Top Ten Plays

While Jojo was at Utah State he was a teammate of ex-Bradley commit Sean Harris

While in high school - Jojo was ranked as high as the #30 shooting guard in Class of 2013

He has a Walt-Lemon-like 42 inch vertical!

I like how much Coach Wardle highlights the high character -
"We ... feel really good about the student-athletes we have coming in this
summer," said Wardle. "Our approach to recruiting has always been to
evaluate with our eyes and not our ears. We filter out a lot of the outside
noise and emotion and dial in on who is the best fit for our long-term success.

"We target players who possess the Bradley DNA: high character, degree
driven, tough, competitive, winners, high motor, work ethic, coachable and
an upside to develop," Wardle added. "The players we have coming in for
next season fit this mold. We have done a lot of homework on their character
and have watched them play live and watched film on them and believe we
are bringing in the right pieces for our puzzle. The future is bright and we are
ready to get to work."

Athleticism must run in JoJo's family. A couple of JoJo's older brothers were pretty good basketball players, and his younger sister, Mecca McGlaston, a senior at Dublin High School, has only been running track for 3 years, but she is already a world-class track star.

She set the world record a year ago for the fastest time ever by a high school junior in the 100 meter high hurdles. Her personal best time of 13.18 sec. is the third-fastest in state history and sixth-fastest ever run by a high school hurdler.
She won the state title for the 100m HH in 2014, and finished a close 2nd in 2015. She has a scholarship to run track for USC.

A nice Youtube video with a lot more info on Mecca McGlaston-

Injuries have hampered her in her senior year, but she is ready to make her comeback-

with the addition of two extremely athletic wing players as soon as we missed out on Freddie McSwain - obviously that need was high priority and I have to think these similar guys we were recruiting are off the board
Elliott Smith
Tre'Darius McCallum

Smith has beens elected for the NJCAA juco All Star Game tonight in addition to John A. Logan's dontavious Payne and Kavell Bigby-Williams.
