BU 81 UT Martin 76

This is exciting to me... With aw and dd graduating the only logical preseason lineup appears to be sm dse tb we and jp... Which I think is a very interesting lineup.

I would think Walt Lemon would merit some consideration for a starting sport next year.

Over who? Lemon is playing well, but logically speaking, who would you take out of that starting lineup for him? Egolf would be the only one that makes any sense, but even that doesn't make much sense to me.

Plus, Lemon has not had a very consistent enough for me to say he should start next year. He had a great game against UTM, but I've seen too many games where goes out and can't get anything to go. If he plays that well in these last few games and in the Valley Tourney, then it would make sense to say think about starting him, but I'm not jumping on Walt's bandwagon yet. I think he's incredibly talented, but the starting lineup of SM, DSE, TB, WE, and JP for next year seems to make the most sense to me, with Lemon coming off the bench as the 6th man.

I really like Walt, but pending health issues I wouldn't start him as a sophomore over any of the guys outside of the "big" spots (4 & 5). He could back up either of the guard spots though... And you'll see lineups with TB at the 4 without a doubt also. I think that it would be ideal though if our "3" is manned in those lineups by guys at least 6'4... So JE, SH, and Remy Abell.

WL is encouraging...4-5 from 3'....that would really help out
JP tough inside...11pts / 10 rbs
Hope WE can rb from this game and be ready for isu..they will come after JP inside and some help would be great....did AT get in?

This is where I don't get JL's strategy. We were killing UT-M on the boards for the first several minutes. If they missed, the Braves had the paint boxed out. Plus, we got several easy inside shots ... some of which didn't fall but over the course of a game we were going to dominate these guys inside. Instead, WE gets his 2nd foul, so OK he needs to sit ... but use AT for goodness sakes. We had these guys dead to rights with an inside game. UT-M proceeded to outrebound us for a long stretch of the game. Do you think JL sat WE because he thought he needed to guard the arc which was the only way UT-M could beat us?

I would like to see a new coach at the helm for next year, even if it means losing Sammy.

OK, we know. Please, let's not turn this thread into another discussion of who wants a new coach. There are already numerous other threads filled with that.

Nice win by BU btw...Doesn't sound like they played all that well, but, got the W on the road at the end, which is always better than losing.

Due to the quality of the opponent, can't take too much away from this game on the positive side as I would expect most BU players, even non starters, should shine vs UT-M, 291 RPI...

We were favored to win the game on the road by 5 and we won it by 6 so we did what we were supposed to do. Sounded like JP, WL and DSE all had good games. We even had a MK sighting. JE just seems to be getting better and better. Congrats to CW for his points as a Brave. Should we have won by more? Maybe but at now 10-18 beggers can't be choosers. A win is a win no matter how you slice it. Now let's go down I-74 on Tuesday and kick some Redbird butt.

Agreed 100% with your assessment bigjimmy. That's two straight road wins for Bradley and four out of six overall. I think they are showing some consistency despite the complaints by some that Bradley played like garbage against UNI, a game that was still meaningless as far as Valley Tournament seeding is concerned. Okay, maybe we finish 8th instead of 9th if we beat UNI, but again in the grand scheme of things, who cares? The most important thing is that we win the majority of games from here on out, something we have already done since the 11 game losing streak. This will increase this team's confidence going into next year, and who knows, maybe we can pull out a miracle in St. Louis.

Hey, it's okay to dream, isn't it? :D

As far as existing personnel, WL has the best potential to be a playmaker off the dribble. If he can get consistent, I'd love to see him on the floor as much as possible. But he's got to be consistent.

Great game today for WL.

I was wondering how long it would take for this post to appear.
Well, Bradley was favored to lose to UNI in their last game, so we did what we were supposed to do. But that didn't stop a tsunami of criticism for the team, and numerous "fire the coach" threads. So let's try to be fair and congratulate the team and coach on a nice road win!

Good article, Dave! I notice he credits a timeout that Jim Les took in the 2nd half after a jumper by Jake Eastman cut the UT-M lead from 8 to 6 for helping Bradley rally to take the lead late and win the game. Jim has been criticized quite a bit here for taking timeouts after made baskets. Nice to see someone acknowledge a coaching move that worked.

Btw, I notice Dave's article has this picture and caption.
I don't recall BU playing Detroit this past Wednesday? :)-

You are quoting him out of context, being unfair and paranoid. Your LOOKING for anything to jump down somebodies throat for and losing credibility.

He was complementing the team for taking care of business and then, the parts you left out, he complements individual players and is 100% positive.

He wasn't ripping the team in ANY way shape or form.....

Talk about sensitivity training.....

Not sure that the bench merits an "A" from yesterday, unless you count WL's performance as bench play. I guess when Milos hits 5 pts., it's a bonus though! (not to dis him - it's not like he logs many minutes)

I am pleased that we grinded out another W on the road.
Nice job as a team today without DD, who's been playing well lately.
Just 8 TO's says a lot without DD running the point.
