One thing I just noticed......Austin and Cole-Scott each played more minutes than any other game this season and they provided a TOTAL of four points in 49 minutes!
This was one thing I was particularly disapointed in. I was really hoping that with extended minutes Tyrone could break down SIU's pressure defense with his ability to get to the basket. He really just settled for jumpers and never really got into "attack" mode.
You really have to give credit to SIU's defense for that poor shooting. I counted at least twice that they triple teamed TCS and Crouch around the perimeter. Perhaps some quicker passing and less dribbling might of helped some but SIU's D was great.

I really enjoyed the unnamed poster's bow and salute to the audience on his way out ... way to stay classy, Z!
Speaking of class, or a lack thereof, REALLY did not enjoy the GROWN MEN wearing maroon "Please don't 'Ruff' me up" t-shirts. You kinda expect that from students, but guys in their 40s, not so much. St. Louis should be more of the same, regardless of the outcome of the "fact finding mission."
I would agree select SIU fans were extremely annoying/obnoxious where we were sitting w/ those 'Ruff" tee-shirts. They received the "ire" of one fan when they were STILL going at it during the senior farewell speeches.
Didn't reallty expect us to win w/o Ruffin, but had some false hope when it was tied at the half.
Just to clarify, most of the SIU fans I talked at halftime to were fairly courteous about the whole thing (truth be told, some of the BU fans were a lot worse), and a couple cited SIU's own problems with student athletes in the not-so-distant past.
Actually I was also impressed that the SIU fans stood and applauded daniel after his short speech after the game. The were very polite and respectful.
There were some SIU fans that were not quite so respectful. A number of Saluki fans - ranging in ages from about 18 to 50 or so - were wearing shirts that said "Don't 'RUFF' me up" on the front, and "Falk U" on the back. Those same people stayed around and yelled some very unpleasant things towards Daniel as he was speaking. I don't want to paint SIU Nation with a broad brush, but those folks certainly didn't represent their fan base very well...especially the 'adults' in the group. They were acting like 12 year olds.
You have identified my "select" SIU fans, i was right near those knuckleheads.
