This may have been discussed before, but I have not seen it. Is there not going to be the men's basketball package this year for BTV? I see a 4 month overall pass, but no men's basketball pass. I will just purchase the 4 month pass for 30 bucks otherwise, but just in case I thought I'd see if there was a cheaper option for just basketball.

The 4 month plan is a good deal. I think the basketball plan they had a year or two ago was $50.

The 4 month package should get you through everything you'll need for basketball. Do they have which games will be broadcast through BU.tv? Last year there were a few key games that were not on it. One of the ISU games were left off I believe.

I may wait until after Friday's game to put my credit card down since the last few years the video quality has been a disappointment.

Ditto. I can watch a Wright State game in perfect clarity for free. But for BU, when other people watch it they have trouble identifying the players. It's really frustrating. I paid for the $50 package last year, but always tried to find the games on channel surfing because it had much better quality.

Yeah MVC needs to take a look at that Horizon package. It may cost them a bit, but I think the fan engagement will show benefits.

Maybe it's just me, but I would often watch Butler last season, as well as a couple other teams, and I'm not a huge Horizon fan. I was on the Butler band-wagon from Day 1 last year, and it was so easy to watch they're games. I think it really helps the Horizon League's exposure.

I had it 3 years ago and was very disappointed. I haven't purchased it since b/c the image quality and streaming reliability were very poor. It was like watching a video on the internet in 1998. Yahoo Sports was often ahead of the feed as well.

I read that those issues were supposed to have been addressed, but apparently they haven't been. Bradley should be embarrassed to charge for that low-quality product.

Worried about the quality this season, me too - I'm signed up for the 12 month package. What you could do is just sign-up for one game, for Fridays game against Texas A&M-Kingsville for $7.95 and see if you like the quality, and if you do, then sign-up for the 4 month package after that. It's suppose to be better quality this season.

I'm planning on watching a lot of women's games this year too. I think both they and the men are really underrated - we will soon find out!

Go Braves :)

By the time I pay 8 dollars for one game I might as well spend 30 and get most of the games. That's probably what I'll do, and maybe I just might watch a few women's games this year since I'll have it in the 4 month package anyway.

I hope the quality is finally better this year, I get my hopes up every year even though I know I shouldn't. I guess I'll see Friday.

The company BU signed on with to provide streaming is the same company that provides the service for the NCAA, NFL and NHL, as well as Dish Network's online service provider.

I can't speak to the others, but the NCAA Tournament streams have been about the same quality as ESPN3.

I don't think you need to worry about quality.

And I see now the company also now lists ESPN3 as a client.

It can't be the same actual streaming system as the NCAA (I wish it was). The NCAA uses Microsoft Silverlight while BU is still using Flash. Bobby Parker told me the same thing you reiterated here, so I hope it helps. My problem is I have no other option to watch games, so I'll probably fork over the cash either way, which really provides no impetus for BU to fix it.

I agree with you. Quality is not so much not important to me, its just I have to watch my Braves, so I have to buy whatever is offered. So B4L, while I agree like you I'll buy it no matter what just to watch my Braves, I don't think it's that quality is not important to us. We just have to watch!

You need to find a friend in Peoria and slingbox the games.
