Brett Bisping - Morton

T I have seen him play 4 times this year and I think he would be a great addition to the Braves. Tall 6'8",can run the floor, shoot the three, rebound,defend we need to offer.Our bigs are not better then him right now, except TB. WE need a big who can shoot the three and we don't have one . Don't miss out on him like we did Max.
 
He is as good as JP right now? I find it hard to believe but I haven't watched him play and you have. If he is that good it would be great to get him.

Different kind of players. I like JP also but tell me when you saw him make anything outside of 8'. This kid shoots and makes threes unlike a certain big we have. He can post up and score unlike another certain big that doesn't see the floor except during warm ups. We need kids that can shoot and this kid can.
 
For those who might not know.....Bretts sister Brooke is on the BU womens team and they are familar with BU!

I've seen numerous times. Coaching change this year could be the reason but I didn't see much progress to the next level this season. Maybe it will be there next year after one full year in a new system.

As said, decent range but not get quickness. But I believe people were saying that about Jeremy Crouch and he found his niche for Bradley.

I certainly agree with your last statement re: Max.
Max was being tripled last night early on and still ended up with 28 points. Didn't score in first quarter, didn't play last 4 minutes so 28 in 20 minutes. Max is a beast!

Do you still believe we missed out on Max? All indications are we had no chance.

Could have been a chance. Max was told last summer there was no "big" scholarship available. If BU had offered last summer, you never know what could have happened in terms of a commitment.

But it really doesn't matter now.

JP is clearly a better player at this stage. And yes, JP can score from 12 and in, he just didn't get any opportunity to do that. His mid-range jumper is good for a big.

Really not a good comparison. JP is a solid 4 or a 5 and even at 6' 8", if you've seen Bisping you know he's a 3. He's a decent looking player, but in my opinion not really a strong D1 level talent. I'd see him more as a very good D II player or bench role player at low D1, maybe.

The Journal Star of Peoria Illinois and multiple other sources are reporting that Brett Bisping, a 6-foot-8 220 pound forward out of Morton High School in Illinois has given his verbal commitment to attend Siena and will sign his letter of intent next week. Chicago Hoops.com describes him as, ???a highly versatile frontcourt talent who has the ability to impact games both inside and outside???.

He made an official visit to Siena last weekend and had this to say following his visit.???I was able to visit with several different people from academic departments, tour the campus and facilities, and I got to spend an hour meeting with the president of the university. I got to sit in on a practice as well as go through game day prep with them because they had a scrimmage on Saturday. Of course I got to spend a lot of time talking to the coaches and spending the evenings with the players. All and all it was a vey positive trip,??? said Bisping. ???I??™ve said all along that if I found the right school that had all the things I was looking for I would sign early. Siena has a lot of the things that I??™m looking for in a school???.

Bisping had a strong finish to his high school season including a 31 point performance in the section final with four 3-pointers and going 19 for 20 from the free throw line, hitting his first 17 in a row.

He played over the summer for the Illinois Wolves out of Chicago, one of the top AAU hoops programs in Illinois.

Congratulations to Brett. I regret that we won't get to see him play much in college. He would have been a great recruit for any MVC team and will have a great career at Siena.
I also feel sorry that the Bisping family, who are dedicated fans and followers of all their kids, and won't have an easy time getting to Brett's games.
 
I did check their schedule this year and wow- you are right -- they don't stray too far from home...

Of their 29 games plus four potential conference tourney games...
-they play 14 true home games on their own home floor
-they play five road games without leaving their own state of New York
-they play a BracketBuster game but last year's BB opponent was Maine
-then their remaining regular season games are in Maryland twice, Georgia, Vermont, New Jersey twice, Massachusetts, Florida, and Connecticut
-then their conference tourney is only a few miles away in Massachusetts..
...so you're right - the closest that Siena comes this year to Central Illinois would be either Duluth, Georgia or Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

I agree with you. I've seen him play many times and I like his game. We just didn't have enough rides to take a chance. TP sounds like someone we need more at the present time. Brett is a good shooter and if we lack something, I think its shooters. Next year we lose 4 people. Maybe if things don't work out for Brett we would be more likely to take a chance.
