BREAKING: Jeter won't pursue BU job

the 101-89 includes his first year when he stepped in and had a good year with all the players Bruce left behind..as I said -- in the last five years he is 79-80..

So just what do you want in a coach:doubt: If we get a current BCS assistant, we are basically taking a risk on an unproven guy anyway right?

all I am asking for is this which should be very achievable for BU:

A coach with experience from a proven BCS head coach
Midwest recruiting ties
Graduates players

If we get a person with the first two traits, that person will put a winning product on the floor!

He doesn't get paid to coach there? That is weird!

It wouldn't be the first time. Isiah Thomas wasn't paid for his first year at FIU. Grant it, that was his own choice, but still.

He wasn't given any extra incentives to stay where he was, but what BU offered wasn't enough to make him move his family. He determined it was better to stay where he was rather than taking a job with a somewhat struggling program. BU would be a great job if everyone, players and recruits, stayed, but there's a good chance a lot of players and recruits won't be in a Bradley uniform next year.

Another one for you AZ! Guess who these Lyrics are from!

1-2-3-4!
Hey, hey!
Ooh!
the Bradley is ransacked
the jewels all taken back
and the NCAA descends
they're hidden in the back
with a message on a half-baked tape
with the spool going round
saying im back here in this place
and i could cry
and there's smoke you could click on

What are we gonna do now?
Taking off his Jersey, they said, is this man a Coach?
??™Cos working for the Crassner
They put up a poster saying we earn more than you!
When we're working for the Crassner
We will teach our twisted speech
To the young believers
We will train our blue-eyed men
To be young believers

The fans said five to ten but I say double that again
I'm not working for the Crassner
No man born with a living soul
Can be working for the Crassner
Kick over the wall cause this admin to fall
How can you refuse it?
Let fury have the hour, anger can be power
D'you know that you can use it?

The voices in your head are calling
Stop wasting your time, there's nothing coming
Only a fool would think someone could save us
The men on the board are old and cunning
You don't owe nothing, so boy get runnin'
It's the best years of your life they want to steal

But, you grow up and you calm down and
You're working for the Classner
You start wearing the red and white and
You're working for the Classner
So you got someone to boss around
It makes you feel big now
You drift until you brutalize
You made your first kill now

In these days of evil presidentes
Working for the Classner
But lately one or two has fully paid their due
For working for the Calssner
Ha! Gitalong! Gitalong!
Working for the Classner
Ha! Gitalong! Gitalong!
Working for the Classner

Yeah I??™m working hard in Peoria
Working hard in St. Louis
Working for the Classner
Working for the Classner
Ha! Gitalong! Gitalong
Begging to be melted down
Gitalong, gitalong
Work
Work
And I give away no secrets ??“ ha!
Work
More work
Work
Work

I am not the one whose choice matters, but I admire Todd Lickliter, Shaka Smart, Matt Graves, and would perhaps settle for Paul Lusk but don't as much about him

Lickliter-- ok...

Smart will be out of our price range

Graves--would rather have a BCS assistant but can't deny Butler's success

Lusk- one of my favorites.

Sydney Johnson would be one of my favorites as well.

First off 79-80 was a misprint and 2nd, you know, the guy could be staying because of family...there are other things than basketball...

From a source I know it has nothing to do with pay, facilities, players, or management!

So take that for what it's worth, that said what's the list down to now?

Fife
Lusk
Gard
Montgomery
Muller
Johnson

Who else?

There are still names out there BUT we need to nail someone down soon as everyone seems to be finishing up matters this week

From the start I liked;
Lusk
Montgomery
Gard
Mueller
Do not understand the Fife hype and do not see Johnson leaving the East area for this job.
The one thing I do know is they need to get this done soon because we will end up losing players if this continues to drag out longer, hoping that our administration is not the reason why some coaches will not coach here.

here's a??
If Rob Jeter isn't avail..then why not lure Howard Moore with the $700,000 - surely he's got
almost the exact same pedigree......and would jump in a heartbeat.....

"Moore, 37, comes to UIC after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant coach at Wisconsin,
his alma mater, under head coach Bo Ryan. Moore joined the Badgers staff in 2005 and helped lead them to the NCAA
Tournament in each of his five seasons in Madison. The team advanced past the first round of the Big Dance
in each of the last four seasons and produced a memorable Sweet 16 run in 2008."

..just curious -- why no thrill up the leg for a virtual carbon copy in Moore? Are we gonna let one lousy 7-24 year at UIC turn us off?

This is the one thing that I am most concerned with if we want a resemblance of a decent season. Perceptions can only manifest itself the wrong way the longer it takes unless they have the right guy but for some reason they need to wait. Then hopefully they will go up to every player and recruit and tell them, please just wait and you'll be happy!

I was worried that we were going to land Ron Jeter, now I find out we can't even land him??? And people on this site are really trying to tell me this is viewed as a top 50 coaching job.

I love BU and this is VERY concerning to me. We need to get a good hire and quick, if we don't even BU fans are going to start to think something is up, let alone prospective coaches...

I agree we need to get something done sooner than later. There are things that the new guy will need to get busy on real quick!

Kansas needs to lose so we can get Barry Hinson in here...

The Bradley job was somewhere just outside of the Top 50 nationally.
In a very short time, it isn't there any more, and that is just what some "fans" here apparently wanted. Just realize things could get a lot worse before they get any better.
