No it's not 100% true. Bottom line, Paula has lost a lot. She also has the most wins in BU history (I think). But, the pressure and expectations of the MBB and WBB programs are not the same.

I am comparing one coaches level of performance with another coach's level of performance and basing it on Dr. Cross's evaluation criteria. Just fact, over the last 7 years PB has not performed. She has gone down this year to another losing record. I think that we could do much, much better.

Right, and surely his criteria are based upon the level of support each sport receives.

Men's soccer isn't judged the same way as women's golf because they have a significantly different level of resources.

I think we all get that you're being a bit of a pot stirrer because you disagree with the decision to fire JL.

It's perfectly acceptable to disagree with that decision -- and come out and plainly say so.

I personally think that he had worse luck with injuries than anyone could have imagined and accepted that as a contributing factor for the W-L record and conference finishes.

But the reality is that the decision was made and it's done.

To drag another program into this, one that is on a completely different level in just about every way, isn't the best way to get your point across.
 
This agrument sounds like the kid who gets in trouble for doing something wrong, but points to another kid and says "he did it yesterday and didn't get into trouble!". The kid forgets that he did something wrong and deserved his punishment.

Using the argument that JL was fired for poor performance, so then PB should also be fired, and not taking all factors into account is wrong. WBB is not given anywhere near the same support as MBB. I agree with the statement that WBB should be producing better and think with the new arena and increased fan support that she will be in the future.

I would agree. I wondered the same thing a few days ago; this year alone, first the WVB coach, then MBB. And while WBB doesn't have the same support, that doesn't mean that the message, whether subliminal or obvious, hasn't been planted for Buscher to prove she can win in this new arena.

It's such a shame is to have this wonderful, new facility right on campus and get so little student fan support. It's been said about many sports arenas, the students many times are the "sixth man".

It should be based on performance regardless of the support that it recieves.

I think that JL should have been given 1 more year with healthy players to see how he would have done, although many times I was disappointed in his coaching decisions.

I don't look at it as "draging another program in". I simply feel regardless of support all of the coaches should be judged on personal performance. In other words it is ok to lose because fan and school support is minimal?

Support, be it from the school or fans or elsewhere, is vital in college athletics.

Financial support (at least equal to peers) is the foundation for a program. BU WBB does not have that.

They are not able to recruit or travel nearly as much as their peers. That puts them at a huge disadvantage, competitively.

The facility helps, but it's not everything. Several schools in the MVC play in new arenas.

Imagine if you were a race car driver and your car was a 1985 Ford Pinto.

You're competing in a 1/4 mile drag races against Ferraris, Mustangs, Cameros, Audi TTs, Chevy Malibus and Honda Civics.

You'd win races occasionally, but you're typically out-gunned and need some good fortune to succeed.

You're over-simplifying this and it's a completely disingenuous and pretty gratuitous.

I definitely respect your opinion...all things are relative..they don't have the budget, etc in other women's basketball programs as well..I expect, however that the Bradley basketball program while not on a level as the mens has a healthy budget. Bottom line are you producing? You may be over-complicatring it..Final response.
