Welcome to Bradley!

Bradley women get a commitment from Tamia Perryman, a transfer from Marian University, a private NAIA school in Indianapolis. Marian was 33-2 in 2023-24, and was one of the top ranked teams in NAIA. Tamia is a redshirt-junior, 5'8" G/F from Fishers, Indiana. She was a part-time starter this past season and averaged 7.9 ppg and 2.7 rpg. She shot 50% overall and 33% from three. Welcome to Bradley! She should have 2 years of eligibility left, since she apparently qualifies for an extra Covid year.

I find it concerning that they are giving scholarships to part time starters from NAIA schools.

Agree. It's hard to know how these last 5 spring commitments will do at Bradley, but their numbers are a bit underwhelming and don't come close to replacing the production they lost from the last place '23-'24 team.

The Toledo transfer (Soleil Barnes) spent 5 years at Toledo, never started a single game, and averaged 3.7 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 0.6 assists per game for her career as a backup point guard.
The transfer from Florida Atlantic (Carlie Vick) never started a single game in 2 seasons at FAU and averaged 1.0 ppg over 2 seasons.
The George Mason transfer (Amy O'Hara) never started a single game in 2 seasons at GMU, and she averaged 1.6 ppg and 2.0 rpg for her career there.
The player from Mali (Mariam Coulibaly) appears to have averaged 3.6 ppg playing as a reserve for her U-19 Mali national team in 2021. But, I can't find any information or statistics for the last 3 years.
And the latest commitment, Tamia Perryman, started only 5 of the 57 games she played in the last 2 seasons at NAIA Marian University. Over the last 2 seasons, she averaged 6.1 ppg and 2.6 rpg.

The Women's Basketball team page has not been updated with any information about these new recruits, and has not had a single new article posted since March 15. Apparently, they don't think anyone cares.

Starting to look like that coaching staff isn't going to be around long at this rate.

Websites that aren't updated is an administrative oversight. ADs need to be attentive to detail. BU had always been sloppy in fringy administrative things. Hate to be negative but....

Bradley women's ....2024 commitments-

Inia Jones, a 5'7" senior point guard at Omaha Central HS committed yesterday (9/6/23).

Incoming freshman guard for the BU women's team, Inia Jones, will miss the 2024-25 season due to a "lower leg injury". -https://bradleybraves.com/news/2024/7/10/bradley-womens-basketball-roster-update.aspx

Tough break for Inia and for Coach Popovec and the team. Jones was being counted on to provide minutes at point guard this season. The 5'7" guard was named 1st team All State in Nebraska after an outstanding senior season and a great 4 year varsity career at Omaha Central HS.
She lead her team in scoring (18.6 ppg- 4th highest in the state), rebounding (5 rpg), assists (3 apg), and steals (2 spg).

The Bradley women sign 5'11" freshman guard Micah Cooper a portal transfer from Southern Mississippi. She is from Carrollton, texas. She played sparingly in her freshman season at Southern Miss.

She joins a couple other 2025 recruits-
Anya Coulibaly Garcia, a 6'0" center from Sabadell, Spain
Maya Foz, a 5'10" guard from Fort Erie International Academy, Ontario, Canada

Another 2025 recruit for Coach Kate Popovec-Goss and the Bradley women-
Kali Fortson, a 6'0" forward who just completed her senior season at Princeton High School in suburban Cincinnati. She helped lead her team to the Division I (largest schools) state championship game, their second in the last 3 years, where they finished as runner-up. They won the title in 2023. She is the daughter of former University of Cincinnati star Danny Fortson, a 2-time All-American and who played 11 seasons in the NBA.
Video- she is #21 in the gray uniform-

Some news about the upcoming women's basketball season....
Little is known about the 2025-26 schedule for the women, but they will be participating in a tournament over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The BU women will play in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, November 28 & 29 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Florida. The other three teams in their division are Missouri, Northwestern, and Abilene Christian.
The Suncoast Credit Union Arena is on the campus of Florida Southwestern State College in Fort Myers, the same location where the Bradley men's team played in the 2019 version of the men's Fort Myers Tip-Off. In that tournament, Bradley lost to Northwestern in the semifinal, then beat Kansas State in the 3rd place game. Bradley also had wins over Norfolk State and Radford at Carver Arena, which were part of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.

Bradley head coach Kate Popovec-Goss and assistant coach Ollie Goss were in Louisville today recruiting at the Run 4 The Roses grassroots girls basketball tournament at the Kentucky Expo Center when there was a large disturbance and an initial report of an active shooter. A large crowd estimated at 40,000 were successfully evacuated from the Kentucky Exposition Center and Fairgrounds. Thankfully, both Bradley coaches were OK. A later police report called it an "active aggressor", and after investigating, they concluded no shots had been fired and no one was injured.
Note that earlier in the day, a mass shooting with multiple fatalities had occurred in Lexington, Kentucky.
