with so many new players, then throw in the significant injuries, I think Bradley could struggle early and won't
reach their full potential for a while. I still have high expectations but I won't panic if we see some growing pains early.

Recall that last year - even with several solid returning players, Bradley struggled early on - barely got by Green Bay in an exhibition,
gave up 118 pts and lost at Saint Louis, then lost to St. Bonaventure in the Opening Day Marathon (a team that went on
to finish last in the 14-team Atlantic-10 Conference) and lost by double digits here at home to UT-Martin and to San Francisco.
But then Bradley started playing well, won 21 games (13 conference games - and solid 2nd in the tough MVC).

Surprise
Georgi is dressed but I doubt he’ll playIMG_7510.jpeg

And do us Timo but he’s in a walking boot

First thing noticed- SIZE, then length, quickness & pretty good shot creation & shooting

Seastrunk has bulked up.
Lots of quick, long arms - I think we’ll compete for most deflections.

Payton = scorer
Ibukunoluwa = aggressive rebounder but hits the 3
Guimaraes = alters shots inside
Alarie = nice touch on his shot
Noah Williams = quickness
Thornbrue, Grill, Race = not flashy but solid
Gaspa = driving ability, unafraid
Dietrich = could compete for All MVC
Grill = smooth 3-pt shot, aggressive drives
Really - nobody looked like a weak spot, good FT shooting, passing
The true freshmen Dimitrije & Max look solid - will give depth at point guard

10 min scrimmage ended 14-14, headed to 8 min OT per instructions from Coach Wardle
Final score Red 26 - White 22
(Red was Guimaraes, Alarie, Williams, Gaspa, Dimitrije, Seastrunk, and Max) (White was Payton, Dietrich, Rugaard, Grill, Thornbrue, Race)

I think the consensus will be that the older & more experienced guys stood out - Payton, Alarie, Josh, the juco guys - Ben & Noah, Grill, Dietrich & Gustavo.

The team practiced 2 hours last evening and had a 1 1/2 hour practice today before the scrimmage game and still Coach was pleased with the effort & energy.
Guimaraes said his knee is fine, Timo - 2 weeks in the walking boot then prob a couple weels before full contact. Not a stress fracture - more of a bone bruise. Georgi wants to stay & get his degree at Bradley but may just have one year - official decision will come later.
One scrimmage can't possibly tell everything, but they looked good. I hope the 3-point shooting will be every bit as good as it was today.
I'd love to hear what others thought?
