Bradley Non-conference schedule

Great read.

Anxious to hear who the 2 teams are ... but for some reason I think I will be disappointed. Not with Bradley - but with obvious troubles related to filling a decent schedule.

I am a little disappointed with the quality of nonconference opponents that some of the Valley schools have lined up.

Most of the MVC is aiming high with opponents like Iowa State, Xavier, Cincy, etc.

But Evansville has Butler and Valpo as their non-con highlights.
What the hey are they thinking by scheduling LIPSCOMB TWICE?
(Lipscomb was 21-10 last year but they played in the 29th ranked - out of 31 - conference, and they were 0-2 against teams in the top-100, and 3-6 against teams in the top-200, and fattened their record by going 18-4 against teams that were 200+ RPI. How did they even find that many 200+ teams to play?? Well, I guess they want Evansville twice in 06-07.

...and WSU still needs FOUR GAMES!! Wow.
Get busy, but don't go doing Lipscomb any favors, please...

cincy coming to redbird arena. good get for isu on the schduling front.

It will be a good opportunity to go and heckle Marcus Sikes.

Just kidding.

With all the talent they have he may not even dress varsity. 8)

Very true. It will be even easier to heckle him when he's sitting on the bench the whole game.

In all seriousness, I hope he ends up being a star at Cincinnati. I just don't think he will.

On page 2 of the ISU 06/07 prospectus, they mention that ISU will play teams against the Big East (St. John's and Cincy which we already knew), MAC (Miami of Ohio and Western Michigan), as well as teams from the ACC and Conference USA. Nobody on Redbirdfan seems to have heard anything about who those opponents could possibly be from CUSA and the ACC. My best guess is that it involves some sort of tournament, but who knows. Looks like a good schedule for the Redbirds.

DePaul just released their non-conference schedule, it starts with BU.

Wonder if either of these teams is making the drive to Peoria to play BU?

Very astute observation OB74. I definitely would like to see the Golden Bears visit Carver Arena.

Normally, when a west coast team makes a trip east, they make more than one stop.

Just trying to put 2 and 2 together and come up with something other than 22! :?

Wake Forest of the ACC has announced that they will be playing Bucknell of the Patriot League for the next three years.....the first year at Bucknell, and the next two years at WF.

Not exactly a top flight opponent from a premier conference to help boost RPI.

BU must be counting heavily on the Chicago tournament (i.e. Illinois) for its RPI benefits. That could be a mistake.

I see nothing wrong with the Wright St game. We have DePaul (Big East), Iowa St (Big 12), and the Chicago Tournament featuring Rutgers (Big East) and Illinois (Big 10). We've got one more date to fill, I am content with either a cupcake or a good team really. Remeber, it's a down year, and the MVC is going to be as strong as ever. We should stockpile the wins where we can, and use these perceived 'easier' games to get our inexperienced players in the swing of things. There will be no nights off when it comes to Valley play.
