Bradley/Michigan tickets

Any game in this four-pack is less desirable than the Michigan game.

Taken out of context, sure.

I don't think that's what the original poster was trying to say when it's taken in the context that "its a good way to sell some tickets to less desirable games". I don't think the ISU or the WSU games will have problems selling tickets.

Anyways, I don't understand why they would include a game that's already part of another package that's offered and easily renewable by the loyal Bradley fans every single year.

How much of this has to do with trying to discourage Michigan fans from buying up a lot of tickets. I am sure that there are plenty in Central Illinois.

I hope that isn't the reasoning, since it seems to be at the expense of the loyal Bradley fans! That makes perfect sense when attendance is down and you're hopefully trying to sell more tickets for a last-place team.

Apparently, anyone that renews their Valley ticket package each year should not do so in the future. That way, we can pick and choose exactly which games we want to spend our money on and we don't have to purchase tickets to the same game twice.

Has anyone emailed Kirk Wessler to ask him if he's called Mike Cross to ask about this?

I have no idea if anyone has emailed Kirk about this. I did just send him a tweet though.

Guess I just figured the guys reporting on Bradley basketball would be aware of the issues that concern the fans. I was probably wrong.

As far as ticket concerns go, they probably don't know if nobody says anything to them about it. I'd also encourage folks to reach out to Dr. Cross. I've always found him to be very engaging and open to questions and concerns.

Really? I thought I saw this same subject come up on their very own website, which I'm pretty sure they look at from time to time. I didn't realize someone had to address them personally for them to know about these things. Interesting.

And this is a shock they don't?

FYI, this isn't directed at you shaunguth, just not surprised the reporters would not talk about this.

hmmmmmm i like it

Maybe a little, but again, if we were filling our arena for every game I could understand deterring Michigan fans from buying tickets. But we are going to see some record low attendance numbers this year. There were only 6,634 in attendance last night- that is by far the lowest opening home game attendance I can find in past years, and we did not any excuses like HS football, afternoon gametime, bad weather, weekday obligations, church night, etc. Plus there were probably somewhere between 1,000 to 2000 no-shows, which is unheard of for the first game.
Last year we drew over 7,000 for the first game, on a Sunday afternoon against UMKC
2 years ago we drew over 8,000 for the first game against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
3 years ago the opening game was on a Sunday afternoon against Idaho State, and drew over 9,000
4 years ago, in 2008, the opening game was against UIC, on a Friday night, and drew over 10,000.
5 years ago the home opener drew even more against Iowa State.
6 years ago the home opener was against DePaul and drew over 11,000!

So with the attendance down, I don't think we should be deterring anyone from buying tickets when attendance numbers are down so far.

Id rather not get beat by 30 pts and have a bunch of Mich ra ra in our house thank you, But you keep worrying about tickets sold, FYI you can stop worrying its only going up from here, I was not Disapointed in the crowd size, Election, crappy few seasons etc! Now If we fail to sell out MOnday nights game we have a problem!

Hmmm. I'm not very good at math but I detect a trend in home opener attendance. I predict a change in that trend line's direction starting next year. Of course I thought Mitt Romney would be the President then too so what do I know.

Still waiting to hear back from him. :doubt:

Another day gone by. Still not sure if Kirk has asked Michael Cross about the choice of games.

Now, of course, this FAN-tastic 4-Pack includes just 3 games, one of which is also included in another package that happens to be renewed on an annual basis by loyal Bradley fans.

If I have any extras for the Michigan game I'll let you know.
