well, there are questions.... but here's some expanded info-
LINK
"Bradley and Illinois State will compete throughout the academic year for the War on 74 Rivalry Series trophy,
with points awarded based on head-to-head athletic competition, academic achievement and community engagement"
- This is not only for basketball but apparently all sports
- does ONLY the head-to-head competition matter?
- who worked out the system for awarding "points"? Are some activities or sports going to be more heavily weighted on points?
- who gets the trophy if BU & ISU split the season series in every sport?
- The premier, revenue sports ought to take precedence, but apparently not?
- the term "community engagement" is pretty subjective, so who is the judge on these matters?
- Bradley sponsors 9 men's & women's sports plus two that are co-ed (XC & track, but does not field a full track squad)
...ISU has 12 sports plus the same two co-ed ones, so do they have an inherent advantage because private schools are definitely
...at a disadvantage (tuition) for many of those teams that utilize walk-ons and partial scholarship players.
Taxpayers do help subsidize ISU's costs (tuition) but not Bradley's
AND will there be bias since Country Financial is based in Bloomington, IL and has a long history of strong ties to ISU
thru
partnerships,
ISU scholarships,
advertising and
business deals.
It's not like they have shown any bias or anything.
