Bradley coaching staff change

I agree with the starting 5. Pop, Duke, Connor and Ville will rotate at guards. Zeke, Jashon & Darius as wings and Leon’s and Mast will own the front court. Max might crack the 10 man rotation.

That is very interesting. I have been wondering how he would fit into MVC basketball.

Wardle's rotation is larger at the beginning of the season but he seems to play about 8 late in the season. It will be hard to break into the top 8 or 9 with due to player improvements that Wardle has mentioned, but I admit you know much more about it than I do.

I know the saying 'you can't have too many shooters'.

Any rotation that doesn’t have our best three point shooter in it is wrong. Davis is fitting in well.

Agree. Christian Davis is somewhat similar to Jayson Kent. He is a terrific shooter, and very smart player, but he will need to prove himself in real game action. Like Kent, he is 6'7", which is good height for a wing player, but he needs to keep getting stronger to get playing time at the D1 level.
Jayson showed flashes of his shooting skills, but when he got more playing time in the MVC games last year due to Ja'Shon's injuries, his shooting dropped off. After shooting 30% from three in the non-conference games, Jayson shot only 23% from three in conference games for a season average of 26% from the 3-point line for his sophomore season.
The coaches are expecting much better numbers from Christian, who shot 35% from three on a large volume of three pointers (56-150) in his freshman season at D2 Le Moyne College. As posted elsewhere, Christian lead his team as a freshman with averages of 12.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg, and 91.3% on free throws (63-69), and he was selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie team.

Who are you most interested in seeing at the red-white scrimmage? I'll have my eyes on Hannah and Zek.

Probably our new PGs, along with Hannah. I have been a fan of Darius since his 1st game. I know last season was a dud, but looking for him to play a key role this season.

Any minutes that Davis gets will be at the expense of Ville, Hickman or Zek. I look forward to seeing him. P.s. is there a red/white game this year?

One of our major weaknesses last season was 3-pt shooting. That HAS to improve, as this league is centered on solid perimeter shooting and stingy D (which we should have)

I believe that Zek and Hickman could have the highest 3-pt %. They are confident and have a nice stroke - and can make them off the dribble, unlike Ville and Malevy.

100% agree. Terry Roberts' departure left a huge void for a team that's PG driven. If 'Duke' can fill that void even 75% BU will be in the hunt for a championship.

Many of BU's 3 point shots were off flare screens. I don't remember many 3s off the dribble unless it was Terry doing improv. Then again I'm old and can't remember breakfast!

Drew Adams to be hired by the University of Cincinnati to a non-coaching position for men's basketball under Head Coach Wes Miller.

Cincinnati has finally announced the hiring of Drew Adams-

His official title is Associate AD, Men's Basketball

"Drew is one of the brightest young minds in college basketball," Cincinnati head coach Wes Miller said. "His experience in operations, recruiting and coaching at the highest level – including multiple NCAA Tournament bids and conference championships at several different elite programs – has given him an impressive resume and the skills to come into Cincinnati and immediately make us better in every facet of our program."

Respected among his peers and established as one of the brightest young minds in college hoops, he helped guide Bradley and New Mexico to five NCAA Tournament berths in his first six years as an assistant coach.

Drew Adams is in demand as an assistant because of his close connection to highly rated 2024 recruit Flory Bidunga.

Cincinnati head coach Wes Miller, who has offered Bidunga, must think hiring Coach Adams improves his chances of landing him.
However, the Cincinnati basketball website shows that all 3 assistant coaching positions there are currently filled-

One time Bradley recruit Flory Bidunga eliminated Bradley a long time ago. But as recently as a week or two ago, he was still in touch with and considering Cincinnati, where former Bradley assistant Drew Adams now works as an assistant coach.
But today, Bidunga tells college basketball writer Joe Tipton that he has cut his list to 4 schools, and it no longer includes Cincinnati.

"High five-star center Flory Bidunga is down to four schools, he tells On3. Moving forward, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound rising senior will consider Auburn, Duke, Kansas, and Michigan."

One-time Bradley recruit Flory Bidunga tweets that he will be making his college decision some time this week-

As noted above, he recently cut his list to Kansas, Duke, Auburn, and Michigan.

Resources?

Some project Bidunga could be a one-and-done to the NBA. Either way, you can't blame him for wanting to maximize his earnings for this coming season. Kansas (the university itself) cannot offer anything more financially than any other school, but the NIL money is the difference-maker. It is estimated that Bidunga's NIL value is over $500,000-

There are only a couple schools who have NIL support that can match that, and reportedly Kansas and Auburn, Bidunga's final 2 choices, were at that level. There are reports that even Duke and Michigan, the other two schools in his final 4, were not able to match that money.
