Bradley 2025-26

I don't get all the hype for ISU-red, or is it that the Valley is once again mediocre?
I assume BU is at 99 b/c of all the seniors who graduated and a bunch of ?? with the newcomers.
But my bias as a Braves fan and knowing what Coach Wardle can do with his guys has me putting BU at about 73 and the favorite to win the Valley. I think this team is capable of making the NIT at the very least, but of course, we hope for more!

Just hope Drake is not near the top once again, as nothing seems to slow them down in recent years. And if they do overachieve, let's at least beat them in St. Lou!

Totally agree with the previous post. ISU Red will be better than last year, but to say they are the preseason favorites is really stretching it in my opinion. With the roster as it currently stands if the team builds chemistry and held together, I see no reason that BU should be a strong contender to win the valley. Wardle usually has his team playing their best ball going into tournament play. Will again be a strong contender to win in St. Louis. Can we start the season now, 😆

Speaking of St. Louis, here are the winners and runner-ups of the MVC Tournament over the last 8 years.
Other than Drake, Bradley is the only other current MVC team that has won the tournament since UNI did it in 2016 (Wichita State won in 2017).
And Bradley has been in the Championship game 4 times in the last 7 years. No current MVC team, other than Drake, has been to the championship game more than once. So kudos to Drake, but it also points out the consistent success that Bradley has achieved.
And note that only private schools have won over the last 8 years.

It is nice to see ISU-red back to ballin' better and being a contender, as long as BU finishes ahead of them!
Makes for a better War on 74 too!
Pedon has done a great job IMO and from afar, it seems he has recruited higher character guys than his predecessors.

Bradley apparently still has one opening on their coaching staff. The Director of Player Development position, which Darrell Brown, Jr. served in for the last 2 seasons, remains open. I am hearing a name that might be getting consideration as a replacement for DB.
Also, hearing of another possible change on the staff that could happen soon.
Thanks for outing me, Coach. It was supposed to be a secret!

ISU will be the favorite just because Walker and Kinsinger came back to go along with a few more experienced players from last season. I also think they will be hurt because they lost their point guard that was vital part of running that offense. Bradley will be a factor if the new players are as good as advertised because they have a lot to makeup both offensively and defensively as far as losing very experienced players. I would hope our rebounding is much better this season. Hoping all our players are working hard together so they can hit the ground running when the season begins this year. I think everything depends on how well these players mesh together in a short period of time.

a little off topic, but to show how hard it is for any mid-major to land top talent...

I heard from a believable source, that Owen Freeman was getting several hundred thou in NIL at Iowa
(16.7 ppg but injured & missed almost half the year), but
when the coaching change came and he went to the portal, the bidding went wild and now he's getting close to $2.5 mil
at former MVC rival Creighton. Goes to show what we're up against!!

The death of mid-majors is at hand.
