Big announcement coming today from Bradley- Joanne Glasser to retire

Excellent news out of Bradley today.:D Phase 1 of the rebuilding process is complete. :) Hopefully the BOT has made it crystal clear that no decisions can be made by her or others that would tie the hands of new personnel expected in the athletic department during phase 3 of the rebuilding process. Issues like scheduling, tournaments to enter, contracts with the Civic Center, locations of future games (Ren Col vs CC), more season ticket price increases, etc.

I do have a little more "inside info" but I don't want to get my sources into trouble, so I might have to leak a little at a time here. This is info that all fans want to know and deserve to know, especially fans who have invested their time, effort, and money into the support of Bradley over the years.
Fans should realize that the moves that started with today's announcement were brought on mainly because those ultimately in charge want to restore the faith and support of the fans back to where it once was.
Make no mistake that today's events were driven primarily by one thing- the decline of the men's basketball program. And the move was pushed to happen by the reaction of fans and the opinions posted here and in letters written to the Board. So the thanks go to those who have stuck things out and pushed for change.

First thing to consider- The termination date of the President is May 31, 2015. That is a couple months later than any change with the coach or AD would usually be made. Some have wondered if that means President Glasser could be involved in hiring any replacements.
But I have heard that the departing President will not be involved in any further hirings or other major decisions at the University.

Second tidbit- there will definitely be more departures coming soon in the Athletic Department. I have heard of how the sequence of events will take place, and it is pretty much the way most expect it to be.

One more tidbit- changes like today's announcement are seen by every administrator and every coach in the country, and despite the polite and benign retirement press release, they all know exactly what is really happening. As a result, I have heard that there are coaches/assistants who have already made calls to people affiliated with the university to check out the possibility of an opening coming soon. Here is a look back to over a month ago when I first got the word from a source close to the Board of Trustees that they were working on a major change to resolve the problems facing Bradley-

Looks like my sources were pretty darn accurate over a month ago, right down to the precise time frame for a change to occur! :)


And, of course, I was the first person anywhere to report the specific news that there would be the big event Thursday afternoon that Joanne Glasser was announcing her retirement-

So it looks like our sources have been 100% accurate. Again. The hapless PJ Star didn't have any of those news items, nor anyone else. So I am grateful to my sources. Members on this message board began reporting last spring about various Board actions behind the scenes....
actions that led to Committees checking into irregularities in finances, and inconsistencies that the admin was pushing on the Board...

Then, pretty much the only place that the news about the resignation of the Board Chairman Robert Turner was, again, right here on this board.

Please........ can anyone explain to me why the PJStar reporters have not reported on ANY of the disasters at Bradley. What has happened to responsible reporting? Is it just a simple case of CYA or are they just incompetent?

Besides being incompetent, they are just happy that the coach they didn't want hired is gone.
 
I think you guys should have a PJS Therapy thread..........that way it doesn't have to be in every other thread;)

Like a lot of things nowadays, you're not supposed to face facts. This is the kind of board people give opinions. You can either read them or not.

That Bradley has had injuries?

The PJ Star should devote an "Excuse Section" of the sports page to keeping a continuously running list of the Bradley basketball injuries, suspensions, and academic ineligibilities, since that seems to be the most important thing they feel the need to report every article.
 
prediction - about the time there's a mass exodus/housecleaning from Bradley - there will also be a mass exodus from the PJ Star...

I was traveling today and haven't read the paper yet. As you have stated I haven't posted here much anymore mainly because it's the same old stuff really and I've tried to stay away ......not that I disagree with all of it but how many times and ways do you need to bash the PJS, ......I thought if you condensed the bashing to one thread it would be easier for you all to keep track of.....but if you want to bash them every thread that's fine too I guess....it's your board...

Think you know, but it means telling it like it is. In my opinion anyway. This board consists of mostly Jim Les fans, me included. There is at least one other board in town which is anti-Jim Les fans. You (we) can visit either one anytime a subject interests us.

I think many take both boards to the extremes regarding Les(and some just for the benefit of each other's board).......most people are not anti-Les.....now they may not be as enthralled with Les as some here but that doesn't make them anti-Les....IMO:)
 
nothing new breaks on the other board - just cut and paste what's already being talked about here...
and often being talked about here for days before anyone else catches on to it...
...and sometimes - as in all the fallout and horrible basketball that's just now hitting everyone in the face and they're figuring it out - then that stuff was predicted years before here...so nothing but old & very old news there.
