Time to give the Bears some props! That was a quality win over Vick and company. Can anyone please explain to me why Julius Peppers is not being mentioned as Defensive Player of the Year, or MVP of the league? I don't think I have ever seen one player in the NFL have such a huge impact as Peppers has this year. What happened to the critics who said he doesnt play hard all the time? He is an animal. He has raised the level of play of the rest of the D line. Idonije has really shined as well. Awesome win!

Also where are all the fans who just a month ago were calling for heads to roll?!?

I thought the Bears would have a pretty good first half of the season and then possibly stumble the 2nd half. But I think this is a case where the team has a lot of confidence now and things are starting to come together for them. They still have some tough games the last 3-4 weeks of the season, but they seem to be getting better and better.

Probably because he isn't even the sack leader on the Bears, and it's hard to give awards based on "he raises the level" of the d-line...

I think most avid sports fans are at least mildly bipolar when it comes to their favorite sports teams ;) You know, fire the bum one month, wait wait, we've won 4 in a row - keep him now OR trade the bum one month, wait wait, he's now hitting .400 over the last 3 weeks, keep the bum. It must be tough to be a player or coach/manager but getting the rewards when things go well make it worth while.

GO BEARS! Keep the coach, but we may have a different idea a month from now ;)

I am hoping they make the playoffs. But just last week before the Philly game I said they would finish 8-8. I hope they continue looking good. Tough schedule still to go.

Protect Cutler + Cutler Makes Plays (to Bear Players;-) )= Bears Win!

This makes L Smith and company look like genius's..

it would be nice to watch a Bears game without a couple Lions cheerleaders broadcasting the game...

If a tackler goes for the back of the quarterback's head with a clear intent to knock him out with a forearm...then duhhhh...it's a personal foul/uneccessay roughness.
Those dopes doing the game musta never seen one before...

Bears sweep the Lions with the help of two awful refs calls. This is starting to feel like the Bears year.

How can you ever lose with the help of the zebras?

Sorry, but once the qb comes out of the pocket he is fair game. I don't care if he actually used the forearm, (which I don't think he did) or not! The bears are lucky to beat the lions twice this season! As the saying goes....better to be lucky than good!

I agree.... but like it or not a forearm to the back of the head...even a glancing blow to ANYBODY, is a pentalty, stoopid and totally unneeded. But thank you for the lack of discipline.

Heres a thought Suh...tackle the guy. He's down..no flag.

Every postgame show has said the same thing.....It shouldn't have been a penalty

Agree, open palms of hands on shoulder pads, should not have been a penalty. . . but I'll take it, Go Bears!!!!!!!!!:D

The ex official that, if you have been watching all year has done a great independent job commenting on calls, emphatically agreed it should have been (and was) flagged.

Sure some will claim bias but he's working for CBS NOT the NFL and has told it like it is all year long often not afraid to side against officials.

Either way my question is why a forearm even close to the back of the head when the guy was 2/3rds down allready when you could have simply tackled him.

Also IF someone claims he was just pushing him down why the forearm...wouldn't an extended arm reach the players body first IF that was you goal to simply take him down.

A forearm was, in the very least a stoopid way to tackle the runner and more likely an attempt to hurt him and not needed.

Yeah football is tough and hits happen but you got to be smart and tough and he wasn't......thanks.
