Article on Sam Maniscalco

I know I've said this before, but I think this kid is going to do great things here at Bradley. I think he's going to pack seats for Bradley games for the next for years, and by his sophmore year give us a chance to compete to win with anyone. Can't wait to see him in red and white.
 
It would be interesting to see what temas would be after this kid if he had not commited to BU early. I cant believe he would not have the chance to go to a high level BCS team if he wanted? I am just glad he is coming to BU and I think he is going to leave a mark during his time here.

I think I may have a new all time favorite Brave after his time is up!!!!!
 
Yeah, I think Les does a good job seeing talent before other people. Had a Maniscalco not been signed early he probably would at least be considering High Majors. With SM though he had an advantage, his dad played for us.
 
Did anyone else hear WSCR this morning where Mike North was talking about Carl and Sam Maniscalco?
It turns out that Carl Maniscalco (Sam's father, and former Bradley player) played for many years in Park District basetball leagues in Chicago against Mike North's teams. They are long time good friends, and North said he would have won several more Park District championships over the years if it hadn't been for Carl Maniscalco!
Then North talked for a long time about Sam. He's known Sam since he was 4 years old. He mentioned that he is going to Bradley, and talked about how tough the kid is and how good he is, that he can play point guard, and off guard, can shoot the 3, and can drive as well as anyone in the Chicago area, and is a winner and a much better played than his father was. He mentioned he is 6' but if he was more like 6'3" he would have gotten national recruiting attention from the top schools. Then he talked a little about his Italian heritage and suggested Sam could be the best Italian basketball player from the city ever. He even said Sam is no Len Bertolini! He's much better! :lol:
This is good for Bradley. Mike North should give BU and Sam some pub in the future because he knows him so well.
 
Sam on a bad night with 18 points? Our high scorer most games has 16-18 points on average and College plays 8 more minutes a game. I'm anxious to see this kid in a BU game. Him and Warren should be entertaining the next few years. Didn't we get some big dude from TX also? If we can get some rebounders to go along with the 3's from Warren, Maniscalco, Crouch and Ruffin, this team would be very dangerous.

St. Patrick's played St. Joseph's again tonight. St. Pat's won the first game.

I heard from someone who watched the game--
Tonight Sam Maniscalco and Evan Turner (Ohio State commit) both had great games. Sam was sensational, despite being guarded by Evan Turner, and double teams all night. Sam scored 28 points to lead everyone, but St. Pats lost 59-54 in a game that was close all the way. Evan Turner had 20 points.
