Anyone upset or amazed...

While I was irritated the crowd was not very large, I was even more angry by the fact that the crowd was just lifeless. In my entire section, I think I was the only one cheering the team on. At times the arena was just quiet. Almost as if they were watching a theatre performance instead of a basketball game.

What I think some folks don't get is that you need to cheer your team on even when we're down. Not just wait for the team to do some spectacular play, like an Andrews dunk, to spark something in the crowd.

With BU's poor turnout lastnite. I was shocked. 3k mt seats on a nite we needed a good crowd. This team just did all of BU nation proud on National TV then they are welcomed home  by 8,ooo fans with about 300 of them students.

Just a thought.....there were several HS games being played on Tuesday night, including Class A regional games. You can't be in two places at the same time, and I know some BU fans opted to attend the Washington-Morton game that night.

Just curious, has the flu been going around the Peoria area? Noticed in another thread posters who did not go to the game due to illness....if they wont go how many more casual fans skipped the game because they or a family member were ill?

Just in my personal experience and contacts with family and friends in the area... the flu ravaged the area 1-4 weeks ago. There appears to finally be a 'break' from it. IMO - not many are getting or still feeling the major effects from the flu right now.

Flu or no Flu, if its a home game, I'm there. My head would have to be falling off for me to miss a Bradley home game, I mean you are gonna feel bad if you have the flu, you might as well feel bad watching the Braves rather than sitting at home.

I didn't realize until Monday that the game was on Tuesday night. I had poker scheduled at my house that night. I had to leave my house with my poker friends until after the game. The people that I work with that go to games went to the Washington/Morton game. It was estimated that 1,500 were there.

The crowd was lifeless. Usually, even if the crowd is quiet for the majority of the game, it will perk up at the end if it is close. Unfortuantely, Bradley's funk started at a time when the crowd might have helped them out if they wouldn't have gone scoreless.

As an aside, and I know lots of BU fans could care less about other teams, but I notice a lifeless crowd on televised games from other conferences too. Illinois fans don't seem as "with it" this year when top-notch teams go to Assembly Hall. Did anyone catch the Texas A & M at Oklahoma State game Wednesday night? Gallagher-Iba is usually rockin', especially when a top-ranked team comes to Stillwater, but not last night. Clemson fans sat on their hands last month when North Carolina went to Littlejohn Coliseum. I've seen that place a lot more rowdy when both Clemson and North Carolina had worse teams than this year. It's not just a Bradley or a Peoria problem to me, but I have no explanation for it either. Even Wichita State fans seem muted when top teams go to Koch this year, and this was noted by Shocker supporters on Valleytalk before Wichita State had its mid-season slump. Again, I don't know what the deal is, but it is something I've noticed happening elsewhere.

Thanks....I'm starting to hear that from several people.

Dog, for some reason I thought the game was on Wed. We even had our evening planned to listen to the game. After that win Saturday there is no reason for that kind of crowd. I hope it wasn't over confidence. If I was there I would have known it was Tuesday.

There were also several HS games going in the area. I was attending the Washington vs. Morton game on Tues night for personal reasons. There was a very big crowd in Morton, so that may have taken away some of the normal fan base.

I think that it was a random Tuesday game had a lot to do with it student-wise. The whole night was awful and I hope and believe that Saturday will be much much better.

I guess I was just shocked at the turnout or LACK of a turnout. I realize many have good reasons not to attend. I'm not a HS fan so I think everyone is like I am

We still have life so Saturday should be MUCH better. BOOK IT.

yeah, i agree with chico, student turnout was pretty poor, i know a lot had tests, but for the way we were going, i would have sacrificed 3 hours to come to Carver if i wasn't already there, thats why God created "all nighters"
