Anyone recall Bradley great Donald Powell

Bradlley power forward from 1984-1988 - played on a team during one of Bradley's greatest successful eras - along with Hersey Hawkins,
Jim Les etc... and won a total of 92 games, helped carry Bradley to the NCAA Tourney in 1986 & 1988 and two MVC Championships.
Career totals - 1,055 points, 599 rebounds, 52.5% FG accuracy, led the MVC in blocked shots twice (1986 & 1988) & had a successful nine-year
pro career in Europe.

Passed away April 29, 2026

In addition to his offensive and defensive skills and contributions to that successful era of Bradley basketball, he was terrific at setting picks, getting assists, and getting dunks while facilitating Stan Albeck's "Pro Turnout" offense that helped make Hersey Hawkins a national scoring leader (36.3 ppg), a 1st team All-American, AP National Player of the Year, and the 6th overall pick in the NBA Draft in 1988.

agree with all - he's one of only a little more than a couple dozen or so Bradley players who scored over 1,000 points and grabbed over 500 rebounds...
In an elite category with Chet Walker, Mitchell Anderson, Hersey Hawkins, Joe Allen, Roger Phegley, Paul Unruh, Donald Reese, David Thirdkill, Marcellus Sommerville, Barney Cable and a few others.... most recently Elijah Childs, Rienk Mast, Darius Hannah & Malevy Leons.
