yoda

Well-known member
so- Bradley just replaced assistant coach Allan Hanson (who was hired away by Iowa State), by elevating Kamrein Street into an assistant position...
Then they hired Malik Garner as Coordinator of Player Development & Scouting.

however, it appears Austin Cox, Director of Basketball Operations is leaving...

(ps- there's a link hidden here)

Here's more assistant coach news that I have heard....

well liked former Bradley assistant Jimmie Foster has left his position as assistant coach on the staff at Colorado State under Head Coach
Ali Farokhmanesh, and will be hired as an assistant under Dennis Gates at Mizzou.

He joins another former Bradley assistant Ryan Sharbaugh there and interestingly also the grandson of yet another former Bradley
assistant.
Mizzou Assistant Coach Griffin McHone is the grandson of former Bradley assistant (under Dick Versace) Mo McHone.

Mo McHone was Stan Albecks asst, not Versace"s.

Jimmie was an Associate Head Coach at Bradley, while his titles at Colorado State and Missouri are Assistant Coach.
Usually, an Associate Head Coach's salary is higher than an Assistant Coach, but that is heavily dependent on other factors like which school it is, what level (mid-major vs. high-major), and what the duties are.

I don't know salary figures, and wouldn't speculate. It is somewhat rare for schools to divulge salaries of assistant coaches.

the article says Jimmie is getting $250K at Mizzou

Click on the quote if you want to get past the paywall

"Foster also signed a one-year deal worth $250,000."

also- "Hardy and Foster each have one-year contracts that run from May 1 through April 30, 2027.
Both contracts include a $250,000 base salary, a $15,000 signing incentive and up to $5,000 for moving expenses."

"Ryan Sharbaugh, who was recently promoted to the associate head coach title, had a planned pay cut
in his original deal from $250,000 to $200,000, which went into effect May 1, 2026. Sharbaugh does not
currently appear to have signed a new contract."

At public schools the salaries are public record.

so-.....

Yup, and our sources again are well ahead of the news cycle....Austin Cox has left the BU coaching staff and
Bradley has hired Colin Shannon as Director of Basketball Administration and Assistant GM

LINK
Cox is now at Ole Miss - and is now the 14th assistant that has moved "up the ladder" on the Brian Wardle coaching tree in just the past few years...many of whom are now in big time positions at power conference schools.
(Rick Karius, Ryan Sharbaugh, Troy Pierce, Kristof Kendrick, Springer, Drew Adams, Bargen, Foster, Nesbitt, Althoff, DB Jr, Gavin Block, Hanson, Cox)

Good luck to Austin Cox. He was a hard worker at Bradley and was liked by everyone. He is now the Director of Basketball Operations at Mississippi under Head Coach Chris Beard. Prior to Bradley, he worked at a number of programs, including UTEP, Southern Miss, & Stephen F. Austin.

Just to give an idea of where all of BU's former assistants under Brian Wardle have headed to...

Rick Karius- Asst at South Dakota then Utah State (btw- Rick Karius' wife was just hired two years ago as HEAD COACH of DI Green Bay,
...............so Rick left his position at Utah State and now resides in Green Bay. Coach Kayla Karius, has done so well in her two seasons there, she
...............was just signed to a HUGE extension thru 2035! Thru just 2 seasons, she's 54-15 overall, & 36-4 record in Horizon League play.
Ryan Sharbaugh- Associate HEAD COACH at Mizzou
Troy Pierce- Asst Coach at SIUE then Associate HEAD COACH at Jacksonville
Kristof Kendrick- Asst at WMU, then SIUE- now into broadcasting
Julian Springer- took position as Asst Athletic Director at Colgate, UAB then Prairie View A&M Univ.
Drew Adams- Indiana
Mike Bargen- Indiana
Jimmie Foster- Colorado State then Mizzou
Mike Nesbitt- Creighton
Pat Althoff- took a HEAD COACHING spot at LMU
DB Jr- Memphis
Gavin Block- Drake
Allan Hanson- Iowa State
Austin Cox- Ole Miss
Brian Jones- left for ETSU then back to Bradley

So 15 out of 15 moved either to a Power Conference team (8), or to a higher level job at another school (7).
Awesome coaching tree and it's just getting started. Recall that his former assistants at Green Bay are also doing well
Brian Barone is HEAD COACH at SIUE and Chrys Cornelius has held assistant spots at Bethune-Cookman, Southern and Lindenwood.
