ACC vs Big X

My God! :o :o I'm watching the Wake Forest/Indiana game and Wake is "posterizing" the Hoosiers.

Watch for the highlights on this one...... It's gettin' real ugly for IU

If Illinois would have won their game, the Big 10 would have won their first challenge. Way to take that timeout into the locker room with you Bruce!

Well so much for the Big 10 winning the challenge this year! UNC just dismantled Mich St. It was just ugly!

Yea... if UIUC coulda held their home court.... if... - Oh well, back to things going as usual.

The ACC dominates the ACC/B10 Challenge and the MVC will get one bid to the NCAA (most likely in the 8-9 game to then take on UNC if they win.

I don't understand the beef there. BW called the play when he called the timeout before the ft. It makes sense instead of making an inbound pass.
The play was called and the players did not execute.....

I think if the game was on Mich St's real home court it would have been closer, but North Carolina still would have won easily. Maybe the Spartans were looking ahead to the Braves.

The players did not execute a play... hmm, IMO, that sits on the coaches shoulders.

Especially if you're not a fan of the coach or his team. What everyone seems to forget is that were 5 other guys out there trying to prevent them from executing.

I thought it was dumb to host the game at the final four site (the Lions's football stadium). I understand they're doing a rehearsal for the main event in April, but since not enough people showed-up to fill-up the stadium, the atmosphere was terrible for such a big game.

UNC looks unbeatable. Here's hoping the Spartans are demoralized after taking such a thrashing and come-out flat against Bradley. (unlikely Izzo would let that happen).

I don't mean to be too critical, but a few things about this game were puzzling to me.
Over the past couple games the IU people have told us how really good Tom Pritchard is, and that he's a big time player, but
he was 1-7, 4 pts, 2 TO, and had no effect on the front court of Wake who scored at will on IU.

Matt Roth was IU's leading scorer with 12 points....but a couple things were obvious to anyone who saw the game.
They listed Matt as 4-5 from 3-pt in the stats, but...clearly they missed his final shot just before the game's final buzzer when IU was behind by 25.

In the flow of the game, it might also be noted that Matt was 1-2 from 3-pt range all the way until the 10:35 point in the 2nd half....when Wake was already 22 points ahead.
Matt's final three 3-pt baskets all came in the last 10 minutes of the game, when the Wake lead was 22 to 25 points.

I have a friend who went to the game. He called me from inside the arena and said it was awesome even without being full. I think maybe the spread of the game might have killed the atmosphere.

Anyone see Iman Shumpert play for GA Tech? He looked pretty good for a freshman, and posted a double-double in pts and assists.

a couple of impressive players last night...Shumpert, plus Jeff Teague, James Johnson of Wake...all were BU recruits, and BU was in on the derby for Shumpert and Johnson right 'til close to the end!

OK, if it is not critical, you sure have a funny why of giving a young man a pat on the back.:? He is a freshman on a Big 10 team thats not so good, with a coach that didn't recruit him but he is doing his best and is living his dream. Who cares when the points were made:!:

I thought MR shot the ball well when they passed it to him and he does hustle real hard. Without MR they would have lost by a much larger margin. The TV heads were definitely singing his praise. I also believe Prichard will be a very good college player! BTW I am not an IU fan by any stretch.
MM I can't wait to collect those jars. We could always do a double or nothing later on during the season.;-)

I understand what you are saying but does that really make sense?

If a coach says pass the ball to Bill and they pass it to Bob then how is it the coach's fault? He didn't do what the coach says....sometime they don't. If it happens during the game you take them out but when it happens at the end you can't do anything about it for thatparticular game.

Again Weber had the play set during the timeout and McCamey didn't pass to Meachum when he was open. I think it was a good idea to call the TO and run the play after the miss instead of giving Clemson time to set up pressure and have to get the ball inbounds.

I believe the coach has to take some blame but these guys have been playing the game for awhile and any kid in jr high knows you have to TAKE a shot in order to make one...

end result...McCamey is a bonehead...

Just my opinion, but to me, it looked like MCcamey had no intentions of passing the ball for that last shot. He only gave it up after he was completely double teamed at the top of the key when several pump fakes did not yield any results. After all that Frazier still had a decent look if he just would have shot the ball, instead he pump fakes and dribbles the clock out.

McCamey shooting with a hand in his face would have been better than passing to Chester with a couple of seconds left.
According to BW...the play was for Meachum or possibly DM and Chet as last resort......McCamey is still a bonehead
