Here is the rankings of the 10 MVC schools in the MVC according to U.S. News & World Report, based on academics and the other criteria they use to rank the best colleges. No surprise, all 4 of the private universities rank at the top, well ahead of the state schools.

Hard to believe CU is the no. school in the country and EU is ranked ahead of Northwestern...

the state school advocates will say it is because they don't exclude the handicapped, and disadvantaged students...and they they open their doors to students who are "shut out" of the private schools.

I didn't realize the discrepancy in endowments across the Valley. I wish Creighton would have listed theirs.

It's interesting to look at the IVY league. A school like Columbia is ranked 8th in the country, but in the bottom half of their conference.

US News groups the schools into different categories.

NWU is in "National Universities"

CU, DU, BU and UE are in "Master's Universities Midwest".
