Abusive and vulgar fans

The ISU students apparently are addicted to their potty-mouthed chants. They just can't stop, and many of the more mature ISU fans are sick and embarrassed by it--

And it seems the ISU don't have a monopoly on bad behavior. Here is an article written by the beat writer for West Virginia after he and the team were subjected to fan abuse at a game against DePaul at the Rosemont Horizon--

Sports Illustrated article about the escalation of bad fan behavior this year, including well publicised cases at Illinois (against Eric Gordon and Indiana) and Oregon (against Kevin Love and UCLA) among others.--

This one is definitely my favorite

Thats why they didnt get into Bradley....

But in all seriousness, when I was at the Loyola game there was some really really old guy standing up (when everyone was sitting) screaming horrible things at our bench.

Worse things than what we say here on the board in our worst of defeated moods. It really was embarrassing. Especially since the players on our bench werent far away and could definitely hear him.

Tonight on ISU/SIU game.. There was a call against SIU in the end of the court with students.. camera show crowd- five students flipping the bird... Stay Classy Carbondale

The picture of the Oklahoma State kids holding up some of Mark Mangino's whitey tighties is absolutely hilarious.

Agreed.

What is with the ASU students and the "shocker" sign?

Some of that stuff is pushing it a bit but just good fun (Coach K and "The Count" sign was great).

I would hate to see some of the good stuff lumped in with the vulgar and racial chants, etc. that IMO are way out of bounds.

Here is an interesting thread from the Illinois State board. Sounds like a group of their fans got a little of their own medicine at SIU--

And note post #9 in that thread. They finally concede their own fans are out of control with abuse of a woman and kid wearing Bradley shirt at the game in Normal.

That's interesting. The fans here have always said those are the 2 worst places as far as abusive and vulgar fans go, and I think they are right.

SIU brought some classless cheers to Carver last week also. I heard quite a few intoxicated SIU fans taking shots at TW and TCS for their incident earlier in the year. As well as a T-shirt taking a pretty cheap shot at DR.

I found some humor in the fact that DRUNK SIU fans were trying to make BU players look bad when they are known as one of the biggest party schools in the nation, and have had recent players with DUIs.
