Good for them! I do the same thing when I fly. Those regs are stupid, texting and cell phone use have little to no impact on communication with the tower or the instruments used to fly the plane.

You have to love the airlines saying this while there is an airphone service onboard.

I'm not smart enough to know if it has an impact or not and they say not to, so I don't do it.

Thats just why you, don't know how to fasten your seat belt, use the air bag, know where your floating device is, know where the exits are or even know where the barf bag is because your Texting and Not Listening and Watching:lol:

I'd read something somewhere that said the reason they ask you not to use cell phones is because they screw up the cell phone network some because the signal hits a bunch of towers... But I have no idea if that makes any sense or not.

If I remember correctly, "MythBusters" did something on cell phones and their usage on an airplane. In a nutshell, they basically determined that it had no effect on the plane, its engines or its electronics/computers/other circuitry.

Great show! Very entertaining IMO

Sure a good show, but not a definitive scientific study by any means.

I don't use my phone on the plane simply because I think it's irritating and it's the last refuge from non-stop connectedness.
