6 positive thoughts about the game last night

I disagree with one of your comments...

"it showed the TV audience (of which I was a member) that there is still passion in the series."

au contraire...it showed the TV audience whose fan base are the silliest and have now claimed the all time worst example of rushing the court!

Hmm...here's my one...

The season is two games from over and most of us can look forward to baseball :-)

But really T...the only thing worse than the celebration is you complaining about it...it just sounds like sour grapes...

Just say it was stupid and pointless and leave it at that...continuously going on about it like some of you have just makes you seem like even bigger sore losers!

They beat us twice...this was their Valley championship in their students minds...that's for them to decide, not us...

While that may be what they strive for, we should strive for that and much more...

But as the saying goes, keep doing what you're doing and you'll keep gettin what you're gettin...

Exactly. Where's BBFan'77/PJStarGuy now? I don't go to the other board any more, but I have told him in the past ISU treats the Bradley game as their National Title game and they will rush the court against us... whalla - in a battle for 9th place, it's ISU's National Title game.

Ok -- let me raise this question.

What if our next coach, and I hope that's years away, comes in and says (a la Lovie) that his first goal is beating ISU, his second goal is winning the Valley and his third is advancing deep in the NCAA tourney. Would that be acceptable to anyone?

In other words, they are two out of 18 games... I don't think anyone should treat it as a national championship. I wasn't a fan of storming the court, though I can understand it given the state of the programs.

No, not acceptable. Winning the valley comes before beating isu. If youre regularly winning the valley the other thing takes care of itself.

... even bigger sore losers!...

I clearly, then, have a different concept of what a sore loser is...

I consider a sore loser someone who gets mad, blames the coach, turns on the players, turns on other fans/posters, wants everyone fired, and thinks they know better how to build a winner..always looking for someone to blame and lay the fault on...

Instead, I am not sore at all....show me any such evidence...I am instead quite hopeful, optimistic, still wearing red and supporting my team 100% (unlike a lot of people who lay claim to being Bradley fans) and having a good time being a good fan..
I will be here still supporting my team unlike so-called-fans who say right out openly on the message board...
"i'm done watching/listening/caring for this season"

So call it what you want, but to me a sore loser is one who blames everyone else and quits right when his team needs him the most.

True fans will support their team no matter what. That doesn't mean you have to like what's going on, but turning your back on them during tough times isn't right.

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone... I just happen to agree with T on this one.

You do realize that the people you're speaking to don't exist right?!

Or at least not on this board...

Because pretty much anyone who comes on this board is a pretty good fan, or we just really enjoy misery, as I can't recall people just randomly watching games and posting for no reason whatsoever...

So it's almost as though you're talking to a wall...

Yeah maybe I am happy the season is almost over, but heck, out of all the posters, I can venture that 70% are as well if not more!

Doesn't make anyone any less of a fan...

I'll say it again and go back to the "what is a fan" argument...

That's for a person to decide themselves as you telling me whether I'm a fan or not is about as asinine as you coaching a team of mine...

STL - I'm not sure if that was aimed at me, but I'll respond anyway.

You are right. Nobody should tell anyone else what a fan is. However, I am entitled to my opinion.

I am not happy the season is over. BU hoops brings me great joy to watch, regardless of the outcome. Would I prefer to see a winning team? Of course. But there are a lot bigger things in my world than whether or not we win. I have a job to go to every day. I have a beautiful wife and the best son anyone could ask for. I have a house to come home to. I have been blessed with a great life. I can't spend my whole life worrying about what happens with this program.

Yes, a lot of people take it a lot more seriously than I do, and that is their right. As a lifelong fan of the White Sox and Bulls, and an alum and fan of BU, I would never turn my back on the program. Never. If some do, so be it. I just don't think that if you are a true fan of a program, you run when times are bad. I think you help any way you can... and all I can do is offer positivity and encouragement.

As I said in the article, it seems everyone likes being negative just to drum up a reaction... and it works... and people will keep doing it. Pardon me if I'm not one of those - I just choose to see the positive in life. I'm not so dumb as to believe that negative things exist - I just choose not to dwell on them.

I like JL as a person, as a fundraiser, as a representative of my alma mater, and as a coach of young men who turn into solid citizens. Many will question his game coaching, which is all that matters to most. Fine... question what you want... just don't turn your back on something you love.

I'm done now.

what?? sure they do -- and there's plenty of them....I cut and pasted that quote from this morning on BradleyFans...

other fans clearly believe it is all about themselves...they only care when they don't see enough wins to make them happy...
I am all for the team and the players....I hurt when they lose but I don't want to always slam someone as the guy to blame.....
I know there's a chance the negative nellies may get some sympathy from higher up and may get their way...
but oddly I feel we'll be right back having this discussion again in a few years, just like many of those same people were when they wanted Mo out...and like the same ISU fans who wanted Porter out and now aren't too sure they're happy with Jank

Excellent!

Come on Tornado. Who on here has said it is "all about themselves"? That's a stretch.

I know some fans are concerned with being close to the program, buddies with players and coaches and having "access" to perks, information, etc.. Is that what you are referring too?
