5 MVC games today (1/1)

SIU just beat UNI 57-55.

Fay led the way in minutes played and points -- 16 points.

The "great" Justin Bocot and Diamond Taylor....... 0 points.

Holy Moley!

Only 2 out of 27 picked SIU in my MVC Regular Season Game Pick Em!

I imagine those 2 are HAPPY!

Not good for the rest of the Valley though re building up 2-3 teams who go 14-4 or better this season to get some national pub....

Just a hunch. ;)

The Valley is looking so low right now.
The only chance WSU has of getting at At-Large is finishing the Valley 15-3, which is doable, and getting to the Championship game of Arch Madness. No room for error unfortunately.
UNI can only afford 2 more losses in the Valley, so they're toast.
MSU just hasn't beaten anybody significant.

I think Missouri St. will lose quality players due to graduation next season, but other than them, the Valley won't lose too much - some very good players though:

BU - Andrew Warren
CU - Kenny Lawson Jr.
UNI - Ahelegbe

The league's best individual performances last night were...
Andrew Warren 26 points 5 rebs
Carlton Fay 16 points including the game winner
Kwadzo Ahelegbe 18 pts but just 2 asst
Indiana State's Jake Odum 20 pts
ISU's Anthony Cousin 23 pts on 8-11, Jackie Carmichael 22 pts on 10-16
MSU's Jermaine Mallet 22 pts, 9 reb
Doug McDermott 28 points on 9-12, and 10 reb

In the Creighton win over Drake, Echenique barely played (some foul trouble).
He had just 2 pts/zero rebs. Rayvonte Rice was 2-11, Drake was outrebounded 44-20!

Other top scorers in the Valley had off days...
Dwayne Lathan was just 2-7 and had 8 pts
Aaron Carter was 0-4 from 3-pt and had just 5 pts
Colt Ryan was just 3-10 and had 15 pts
Weems 4-11, 13 pts
Austin Hill, who was ISU's top scorer but now drops to 2nd in the team, was 0-2, scoreless
Murry had just 6
Seck had just 5 with 2 rebs
SIU drew just 4045

In fact, the league's TOP 6 individual scorers all had under their averages, except Andrew Warren --
whose average went up to 19.4 ppg, almost 2 and a half points better than the next guy.

ISU sits at the bottom of the Valley along with BU -- Mishler got only 7 minutes-scoreless (thought you'd want to know).
ISU actually hit 43% on 3's - way better than they usually do, but Missouri State did them one better and hit 10-19, 53%.
Justin Clark halfway thru his soph season still hitting only 18% on 3's...

Lathan also had 8 turnovers. He also had 8 turnovers against Purdue.

Dodie Dunson isn't among the top scorers in the Valley. But he had an off day too. He was 0-7 from the field with 5 turnovers. His 2 points came at the line where he was 2 for 4.

3 fouls and 3 turnovers will certainly limit one's playing time. Plus the guy he backs up had 22 and 8 in 33 minutes of game time.

The lack of offense for Bradley (other than AW of course) in Valley play is alarming!

2-18 Dunson

1-6 Eastman

3-12 Lemon (4-20 going back one more game)

3-4 Prosser

1-3 Thompson

These guys really need to show up on offense for us to win some games.
