2026 Portal transfers

Starting a new thread to talk about players who are in the portal. These are not necessarily players that Bradley is recruiting, interested in, or would even consider BU.
Here is an interesting one I just saw-
UT Martin's Matas Deniunas will transfer- he is a 6'9" freshman from Lithuania who averaged 12.5 ppg and 5.2 rpg this season. He was the OVC Freshman of the Week eleven times this season.
He had one of his best games in UT-Martin's win at Bradley, scoring 20 points on just 7 shot attempts- 5-7 FG%, and 3-4 from three (box score)

The D2 Transfer Portal is open, and there are already 468 names listed on Verbalcommits.com D2 Portal list.
Last season there were a total of 1,482 names on the list.

The D1 Transfer portal has changed and is only open for 15 days starting April 7 through April 21. Previous to this year, the Portal opened the day after selection Sunday, and remained open for 45 days. This change was requested by the Power 5 conferences, since most of their teams were still playing in the NCAA or NIT Tournaments when the portal was open earlier. They complained that they didn't have as fair a chance to recruit the better players, since they were still playing beyond when most mid-majors' seasons ended and the mid-majors were getting a head start recruiting the portal.
Last season, Verbalcommits.com reported 2,651 names in the D1 Transfer Portal.
Because of the short window of only 15 days this year, expect a huge flood of players entering the D1 portal starting April 7.

only has one year left- might want to aim to play for a winner... he will get good offers
He'd be smart to talk to former Bruin Cade Tyson on how to balance "good offers" with playing time. Tyson shot high for the Tarheels and barely played, but found a good fit with the Gophers.

Wow
Who coulda seen that coming ;)

Well that's one MVC school we shouldn't have to worry about contending for the title next season...unless they bring in a bunch of Division 1 ready D-2 guys with a D-2 head coach.

The new Drake guy tried that this year and unfortunately it only started working in March...

Another Belmont player announces he's headed for the portal.
Win Miller, a 6-3 guard who has just one year of eligibility remaining... a deep sub who played in most of their games
averaging 8 minutes per game and 2.7 points per game.
But he did demonstrate that he's a good shooter - hitting 40.5% on 3-pointers (15-37) and 16-18 (89%) on Free throws

and here's an interesting one....
one of the best players in the Missouri Valley last year, Valparaiso's All Wright - hit the portal last spring and
transferred to Xavier. But he didn't play as much as he would have liked and Xavier was not good - tied for LAST in Big East
He hit double digits only once since the first half of February (10 points on Mar 3)
(his season just ended with a 93-68 loss to UConn in which he was scoreless in just 6 minutes).....and now...
HE'S HEADED BACK TO THE PORTAL TO TRANSFER AGAIN! Would he consider the MVC again? (doubt it)

All Wright was a starter at Xavier and he shot 42.2% from three. He could be a valuable player in the MVC. I'd love to have him, since Bradley is losing the best 3-point shooter in the MVC in Alex Huibregtse, and 4 of the team's top 6 3-point shooters..
All Wright stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/5241430/all-wright
Alex's stats- https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...ffensive/sort/threePointFieldGoalPct/dir/desc

He was recruited some by the Bradley coaches a couple years ago. I do not believe he was offered.

the best players will be highly sought after.. but statistics from last year show more than half
of those who went to the portal did not find a DI home last year

Wouldn't it be reasonable to think those half of the transfer portal players are in the portal because they were told they wouldn't have a scholarship the next season? i.e. they were forced to move down etc.
