2025 Arch Madness

4 days ago SIU was losing by 31 at ISU Blue. Today SIU is winning by 8 with 12:00 left. Dibba has 26.
 
A layup by Davion Spikes with 4.1 left gave the Salukis the 86-85 win in one of the better games I’ve seen at Arch Madness. All ISU was able to do was get a half court shot up. Kenard Davis Jr scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half and Dibba led all scorers with 30. They were 36-67 overall, 9-21 from 3 and outrebounded ISU 37-29. The Sycamores shot 30-60 overall, 10-26 from 3, and were just 15-24 from the FT line. ISU had 6 guys in double figures led by Grey who had 27 but didn’t score in the last 9:00 of the game. SIU gets a date with Drake at noon tomorrow.
 
It was a game for about a half but ISU, after grabbing their first lead with about 9:30 left, outscored Missouri St 20-6 the rest of the way and lead the Bears 38-23.

SIU was up 47-43 at the half, not down by 13. They almost gave the game to InSU in the second half by blowing a nice lead, but held on for the win. What a difference four days make!!

Anyone know how many lead changes and ties there were in this game, especially in the second half?

In the last 10 minutes of the game there were 3 ties and 9 lead changes. In the first half I counted 7 ties and 14 lead changes.
 
ISU Red had an easy time against Missouri State as their lead never got back into single digits. The Redbirds shot 26-51 overall, 10-23 from 3, and was able to give their starters some rest in the last 10:00. In their last game in the Valley Missouri St shot 20-58 overall, 5-19 from 3. Certainly will go down as one of their worst seasons in their history. ISU plays Belmont at 2:30 tomorrow
 
The general consensus from other Valley fans was “Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out”.
 
Game 3 is Murray St and Evansville. They split in the season series both winning close games at home. Against us we beat Evansville there by 6 about a month ago and we went 2-0 against Murray though we had to go OT a few weeks ago at home

I'm just stunned that the Murray State guy, in the early minutes of a Thursday play-in game, hits the shot
then turns and trash talks to the EVANSVILLE bench! What really dumb move. and he earned that technical foul.
Gotta be more focused and more mature than that.

It happens a lot in this look at me era we are in. And not only did he do it in front of the ref he’s complaining about it to his coach as he went to the bench.
 
Terrance Harcum with 21 points on 7-8, 5/5 from 3, shooting as Murray starting to pull away from Evansville. 8:00 left Murray up 59-43
 
Evansville had a couple of 4+ minute scoring droughts in the second half and Murray, behind the brilliant offensive performance by Harcum, pulled away to win 74-53. Harcum ended up with 31points on 10-11 shooting, 7-7 from 3. Pretty hard to put back to back performances like that, I hope.
