2019 Valley Recruits

possibly, but in the case of Abdul Fofana, they repeatedly say his aim is to recover and get back with the team
"Fofana elected to stay at Missouri State. The university announced before the season that he would redshirt
with the hopes of getting him back to 100 percent health.

When asked on Friday, Ford offered the first update on Fofana since June.

"I think he's doing good," Ford said. "I haven't heard. I know he's in class and that he's still on scholarship.
He seems to be doing OK the times I've seen him."
Ford added the team and Fofana have yet to think about the forward's future in a Bears uniform,
but he said Fofana is walking around and is spending time with the team."

Wouldn't you think that if everyone knew his career was completely done, they would have said so?

In fact this article says the NCAA has something called the "first-year exemption rule".- but wouldn't Mast fit the same scenario?
"With the NCAA’s new first-year exemption rule, Fofana’s upcoming redshirt year will permit the Bears
to utilize his scholarship on another player in 2018-19." -

Missouri State gets on the board for 2020 with a really highly rated 6-3 point guard, Ford Cooper....
it's being reported that Missouri State 2020 commit Ford Cooper will "reclassify" as 2019 and join the team now.
They are deep enough that I wonder if the plan is to redshirt him - but maybe they think he is ready now...

It's a little ironic since they just lost a kid who RECLASSIFIED from 2019 back to 2020 - DaJuan Harris

But the article out of Springfirld MO hints that possibly Ford may not be keeping his commitment since he has not signed yet - time will tell
The article also says "Missouri State would have to make a roster move due to the Bears already being at maximum scholarships for this upcoming season".

..so, someone is going to lose their scholarship - again, time will tell..

Evansville has posted their 2019-20 roster-
https://gopurpleaces.com/roster.aspx?roster=305&path=mbball

.... and one of their commits' names is missing from the roster- Demontay Dixon. He is a skinny 6'9" kid from Tennessee who was a 2018 Illinois State commit, but he never came to ISU for some reason. He changed high schools and eventually changed to a 2019 recruit. Evansville had an open 2019 scholarship as they moved into May, 2019, so they offered him and he committed.

Nobody seems to know why he isn't listed on the roster. It could be something simple like not being able to attend summer classes, and thus he is not enrolled. Since he signed a 2018 NLI for ISU, he is not eligible to sign another one this year, and thus Evansville cannot talk about him or list him until he enrolls. Or possibly he won't be attending Evansville.

Missouri State reportedly has landed a grad transfer. Anthony Masinton-Bonner, a 6'3" shooting guard/grad transfer from Colorado State who averaged 11.2 ppg and shot 41.0% from 3 this past season has reportedly verbally committed to MSU. He started about half of CSU's games.

One of Missouri State's new incoming players, Anthony Masinton-Bonner, a grad-transfer from Colorado State, has decided to "retire" from basketball and will not play this coming season.
