Will any of the games be on TV this year or just
ESPN+ ?

unless things change, everything is on ESPN+

...I know it is not ideal for some - and a lot of older folks & long time fans just don't do computers or the internet (see the discussion on Joe Stowell)
but if you have a computer and if you go to the ESPN+ links - it is only $5 to sign up, you get a month's worth of viewing, and then you can cancel - or you will be automatically charged $5 per month.

There's also a 1-week FREE TRIAL option - so if you sign up now- then cancel when the women's tourney is over - you will get the whole thing for free
---just don't forget because at the end of a week they will start charging $5 per month

Here's the link to try the free trial - http://www.espn.com/watch/_/id/b62c5740-c38b-41e0-87d6-fbfe9ba46a9c/mvc-womens-basketball-tournament

Drake won handily in the 1st game today over Indiana State
Bradley is now playing ISU and at halftime it is ...
Bradley 29 - ISU 23

Bradley is the #5 seed and ISU is the #4 seed

Lasha Petree leads Bradley with 9 pts, Shunsere Kent has 8, Ellie Spelhaug has 5, Chelsea Brackmann has 2 pts & 5 rebs
ISU has yet to log a single point from their bench.
Tete Maggett leads ISU with 9.

Winner here plays at 1:30pm tomorrow vs. Drake

Bradley trails by 8 with 3 min left... not looking good..

update - under a minute - looking like Bradley's season is going to end...
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=251350

ISU 58 - BU 53 with 30 sec left

edit - FINAL - ISU 61 - Bradley 55
Lasha Petree led Bradley with 19
Bradley finishes 20-10 (best record since 2009 & only the 2nd 20-win season since 1980 & only the 3rd ever)
..... and may get a post-season bid - they have an RPI of 149 so it won't be the NCAA or NIT
They played in the WBI in 2010 & 2012.

Missouri State knocks off Drake in the MVC Women's Basketball championship and gets the automatic bid to their NCAA

I wonder if:

1. Drake will get an "at large", as they were ranked no. 21 and have several victories over ranked teams and
2. If BU would accept a CBI bid.

The NCAA Women's Selection Show is today at 6pm Central on ESPN - https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...selection-show

It would be a travesty if Drake was left out - especially since gobs of the best big school (BCS) women's teams are NOT that good
(Duke is 79, Arizona 81, LSU 85, Virginia 97, Ohio State 101, and plenty of Big East, Big 12, ACC, Big 10 and Pac 12 teams are over 150 !)

The WNIT & the WBI state that their brackets will also be released today

There is no Women's CBI. The CBI, which is run by The Gazelle Group, does not have a women's post-season basketball tournament, only a men's CBI-
http://www.gazellegroup.com/main/cbi/

But there are a couple post-season tournaments for women other than the Women's NCAA Tournament-
There is a Women's NIT (WNIT)-
http://www.womensnit.com/news/2019/2...ason-wnit.aspx
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%...ion_Tournament

Unlike the men's NIT, the WNIT is not run by or associated with the NCAA. It is run by an private and independent group, Triple Crown Sports, a company based in Fort Collins, Colorado that specializes in the promotion of amateur sporting events. It is in its 22nd year this year. The 64-team field for the Women's NIT will be announced tonight (Monday, March 18 ). The games are all played on campus sites. There are 32 automatic bids (one from each conference), and 32 at-large bids. If any auto-bid school declines, it then becomes another at-large bid. The home team in each matchup is determined by which team bids more to host the game.

There is also a post-season tournament called the WBI (Women's Basketball Invitational).
http://www.womensbasketballinvitatio.../landing/index
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%...l_Invitational

It is a newer tournament started in 2010, and is organized and run by Sport Tours International, a group that runs multiple early-season tournament, including the Islands of the Bahamas Tournament that the BU men played in last season. The WIT is a 16-team post-season tournament, and the games are all played on campus sites.
The Bradley women played in the WBI in its first year of existence in 2010 under Paula Buscher. They beat Louisville in Louisville, then lost a tough one in Charlotte, SC against the College of Charleston.

The Bradley women are 20-10 (19-10 against Division I) this season, and their RPI is 154. They were 10-8 in the MVC and finished in 5th place. So they are a borderline candidate for the WNIT, as well as a candidate for the WIT. Both of these post-season tournaments require a "buy in", and thus there are a number of schools that decline invitations. Let's hope Bradley gets a bid, and that they accept!

WBI post-season tourney field announced - http://www.womensbasketballinvitatio...?max_width=820

Of the 16 teams that are in the WBI - 12 of them are ranked (by the NET) well below Bradley - a couple of them are way up in the 200's
..one is a transitioning DII school that isn't even eligible for either the NCAA or WNIT until they complete the transition process!
Many have 14 or more losses and one doesn't even have a winning record.

So if this tourney had to dip that deep into the pool of available teams - then I have to believe they called Bradley and we declined'

MVC landed 2 in the NCAA and, if Michigan State pulls off the upset in round I, I'll catch the 2 games of the women's NCAA first round in Iowa City on Friday: Mercer vs. Iowa and Drake vs. Missouri.

I am sure that BU declined the WBI ..I note that Northern Iowa is in the WNIT.

One of Bradley's talented freshmen is Ellie Spelhaug from Davenport IA -
her little sister Carli Spelhaug was one of the stars that helped the Iowa All Star girls beat the Illinois All Star girls in their game tonight, 60-56.
But she is not playing basketball in college - Carli is going to Iowa State on a softball scholarship - LINK

now Bradley freshman Ellie Spelhaug is transferring to Iowa State to play softball with her sister
