And here are a couple interesting articles about the next coach who may get fired-

The Tennessee AD is reportedly waiting for the NCAA report in June to fire Bruce Pearl. However, there has been a small amount of demonstrations on campus to keep Pearl.
http://www.wbir.com/sports/article/162735/5/Fans-rally-to-support-Bruce-Pearlhttp://www.wbir.com/sports/article/162735/5/Fans-rally-to-support-Bruce-Pearlhttp://www.wbir.com/sports/article/162735/5/Fans-rally-to-support-Bruce-Pearl/

However, there are rumors that the University of Tennessee President has had enough and is ready to fire Pearl over the objections of the AD-

Georgia State hires IUPUI's Ron Hunter-
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6241679

Hunter is a good guy and a decent coach. But he has been at IUPUI 17 years and made the NCAA only once. The Colonial Athletic Association is a step up from the Summit League, but Georgia State is a hard place to win.

this is an Alford-esque & McDermott-esque move -- getting out before the axe falls...

Note this comment in that story --
"Georgia State said they would support me and that made a big difference," Hunter said."
...couldn't have made it plainer -- that IUPUI wasn't supporting him...

..the first thing schools like IUPUI and IUP-Ft. Wayne need to do is change the names of their schools...
SWMS did it and they lots more respect...UW-M is trying to get-r-done and change to just Milwaukee but it's hard...

Consider Indianapolis State (idea borrowed from Wichita State) or Indianapolis University (idea borrowed from Syracuse University), or University of Indiana-Indianapolis (idea borrowed from UCLA), or for the best effect....switch it up a bit and go for ISU (Indianapolis State University)

Wow -- check this out...

ex-Peoria Central player AJ Guyton -- who is an Indiana University alum....
and Daniel Ruffin's brother, currently in Peoriar is tweeting that he's apparently not pleased with the current makeup of the IU basketball coaching staff!
"Can we get at least ONE former Hoosier on Tom Crean's coaching staff?"
Wow -- if he was at BU in any capacity and said this about the BU staff, this tweet woulda got him fired...

Unfortunately that won't ever happen, the political battle over IU-PU school system is pretty crazy, two schools trying to be the marquee state university... Though PU seems to be winning academic in the academic accolades arena lately, Many IU alum were shocked when Krannert passed the 'world-famous' Kelley Biz school. Both are good, but Purdue being the technology focused campus will bear fruit in the long term. IU's most revered programs - law and medicine - are primarily in Indy - pretty much part of IUPUI, though the degree still says just IU.

Long story short... Fat chance changing the name.

Yep...also, the University of Indianapolis is already taken.

The problem with the SEC is that it has two of the best recruiters in all of college basketball that you will have to compete with year in and year out. TN will probably drop down a few pegs unless they also find a personality that is also a decent X and Os guy. There are not to many of them unless they are willing to spend a ton and last I saw TN is more of a football school then basketball. BP was thrown under the bus because the last thing they want is for the NCAA to be sniffing anywhere close to their football team. I could see Cunzo heading there and not Marshall.

Tennessee has this list of 5 to replace Bruce Pearl-

http://www.govolsxtra.com/news/2011/mar/23/five-coaches-top-uts-list-search-replace-bruce-pea/

Pittsburgh coach Jamie Dixon.
Villanova coach Jay Wright.
Alabama coach Anthony Grant.
Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon.
Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall

IMO, the top 3 are probably not going to leave the jobs they have, which could put Turgeon or Marshall near the top.

and I don't even know if that would be a good move for Turgeon...

Louisiana Tech fired head coach Kerry Rupp after 4 seasons. Rupp was a pretty hot name just a couple years ago.

Tennessee Tech wastes no time hiring a new coach-

And Providence hires Fairfield's Ed Cooley-

And Northern Illinois has reportedly hired Mike Montgomery-
