This article pretty much goes over the same things we've dicussed on a daily basis........except for JL saying they are still recruiting the 2007 class.......so they must expect someone to leave? I mean ..how hard would it be to convince a Big Juco center to come here with him knowing there is no-available rides left.....or do they think DB will not pass his test? To me this will be a hard sell unless they know for sure that a ride will open up.....I for one am hopeful that a BIG JUCO can come in and help out the freshman Bigs for next year .....and by the way......how high would the already ranked recruiting classs for 2007 be? :-o :D

PS.....also nothing yet announced on JC's knee? :?

After thought........the way the current staff seems to surprise.....any chance the staff is on a un-committed superstar HS Big....who might be a power forward who could come in 2007 and dominate? :-o

It is funny how DR speculates that someone will be leaving the team and another scholarship will open up.
It is almost as if he knows something?

I'm still shocked to see it in print that the staff is still recuiting the 2007 class.......so something is up! :-o

My thought is they have already told the individual his scholie is being pulled. I can't imagine they would continue recruiting unless that players departure was a certainty.

Scholarships are renewed every year not automatic. Its very possible 1 or 2 people may not be back???? Still not sure if JC is as bad as reported on this site according to Dave R. WE can only hope JC will not miss much of this season.

It's not speculation if the coaches say they are still recruiting for 2007. Last year when they reached the scholarship limit they said just the opposite....that they were finished recruiting for the season.

I hope you are right wily, we can hope these reports are overblown. But I am hearing the rumors too that the injury is serious.

I don't like this type of reporting.....you either know something or you don't. Save the specualtion for the fans.

Personally, I think Jim Les knows who is going and who is coming.
I believe we will be very happy with the results!

Squeaky...you make a good point. IF the coaches say they are still recruiting then I guess a reporter would have to draw/reach conclusions as to why.

Its NOT as if he is just offering some "fan-like" "hey, we need to dump_____ and get a impact big."

There is always the possibility that a recruit will not meet academic standards and one of the players may have said they are not happy about playing time and will not return; everyone pretty much knows they need a 6-8 player that will help immediately; you cannot depend on thompson and egolf to step in and start next season.

IF someone does leave I hope it is NOT because his scholi is being pulled. I don't like when other schools do it, and I will NOT like it if BU does it.

Its a business, if the player is not able to do what was expected, you have to cut your loss. Kids lose academic scholarships all the time because their grades dip below the expected amount, why not atheletes who fall to perform also. . .

Because it's one sided in that the kid cannot transfer without sitting for a year. Now I have no trouble with the coach telling the kid that the kid will get little or no playing time and it would be in the kid's best interest to transfer. But it should be the kid's decision. To state the NCAA's position the kid committed to a school. I think the school should honor that as long as the kid wants to stay. Just my opinion.

Well he doesnt have to leave the school though either, just his free financial ride is being taken away. Its not like the vast majority of atheletes make a career of playing sports anyway, they can stay and finish their education, just at there own costs, they might as well look at the free years as a fun time, and a blessing in saving money.
