Indiana State becomes the first MVC school to release their non-conference schedule for 2026-27
They have announced two exhibitions

Pretty bold scheduling AT Butler (exhib), AT Oregon and AT Kansas... but the down side is THREE cupcake non-DI's and
a newly transitioned Southern Indiana - (D3 Rose Hulman- exhib, D3 Earlham, and NAIA IU-Columbus)

*2 cupcakes
Rose Hulman is an exhibition as well. Transitioning doesn't mean much as far playing the game. They still get rankings like the rest of the D1 Schools. They also are no longer a transition school since they got a year reduced. They can play in the NCAA now if they make it. This is also the last game of the 4 year agreement.

that may be true, but they are a textbook cupcake -- the official NCAA NET rankings had them right near the bottom at 345 in 2025-26,
...they just became a full DI member ....however...
They played the 3rd WORST non-conference Strength of Schedule among all Division I schools (363), plus they scheduled 3 non-DI games,
and they finished just 5-23 - with two of those wins over a D3 and a D2.
So they are prob the equivalent of a bad D2.

did you see that Butler and Nebraska are BOTH playing at UIC's Credit Union 1 Arena in late November!

But sadly neither is playing against UIC, they are playing each other there.

Yes
Evansville is the first MVC school to release their full non-conference schedule
Buy games at Memphis & Mizzou but softie home games against Wabash, IU-Kokomo, LeMoyne, Chicago State & Brescia.
... makes you wonder if they are looking into dropping down to DII?

That appears to be far from the worst schedule Evansville has had in recent years. There are some tough games beside the road games at Memphis and Missouri.
Austin Peay was the co-champion of the Atlantic Sun Conference (22-9, 15-3).
SEMO (20-13, 14-6) finished one game out of 1st in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Middle Tennessee was 17-15, and 11-9 in the CUSA, and beat the Aces in Evansville last season.
Miami-Ohio (32-2, 18-0) dominated the MAC, rose to #19 in the rankings, and was an NCAA team last season.
Western Kentucky (18-14, 11-9, T3rd in the CUSA) will also be tough. They beat Evansville last season in Bowling Green, KY.
