March to summer

Summer is fast approaching and wondering when signed recruits will arrive on campus and begin workouts and practicing. Would think that time is fast approaching. Only the first of June, but already anxious for the season to begin.:D

The first summer session at Bradley started on May 21 and runs through July 2. Summer session 2 runs July 9 to August 20.
The NCAA allows voluntary team activities and limited practices to start June 1st of each year, but with it being Sunday, most programs will probably start tomorrow, June 2nd. As in past seasons under Coach Wardle, I'm guessing most members of the team are probably on campus and enrolled for the summer sessions.

The Bradley roster page appears to need updating- https://bradleybraves.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster
It shows the 6 returning players plus A.J. Smith (committed 4/16) and Alex Huibregtse (committed 4/19).
But, it does not include any of the incoming freshmen (Zobrist, Richardson, Wheeler, Seastrunk), nor does it include later transfers Mayar Wol (committed 4/23), Kai Yu (committed 4/27), Gustavo Guimaraes (committed 5/15).

DC, I see you are assuming that Thomas will get an extra year. Currently only two scholarships opening next year and one of them is already spoken for.

A.J. Smith, Alex Huibregtse, and Ahmet Jonovic are all in their final year of eligibility. That is 3 scholarships that appear certain to open. But with Race Kowalczyk's commitment, that still leaves at least 2 open scholarships in 2026-27, and maybe 3 if Corey doesn't get another year.
The eligibility for Corey Thomas for an extra year after 2025-26 is not certain, yet. The NCAA in the Diego Pavia case, granted only a temporary waiver allowing junior college athletes to retain an additional year of eligibility for the 2025-26 season if their original eligibility was set to expire in the 2024-25 season, while the NCAA appeals the case. Since that definition doesn't fit Corey's situation, it will take an additional ruling to extend to athletes like Corey. If that doesn't happen, 2025-26 would become Corey's final season.

And then there is the question of Gus Rugaard. Right now, there are 14 scholarship players (maximum is 15), plus Gus. Will he be on scholarship for 2025-26? Since the coaches are still making recruiting contacts with 2025 recruits, it appears that decision hasn't been finalized yet. But that situation means there could be yet another scholarship that could become open for this coming year and/or for 2026-27.

And just about every year, there have been other unexpected scholarships open, so that could make even more available.
