Any player who shops around & picks a school to transfer in to, then quits before he ever plays a game, then transfers again from his next school - has issues that will limit his options with the next transfer

There are exceptions. Like when the coach that recruited the kid is fired or leaves to take a different job.
For example, one of Drake's new coach's commits is a kid he signed when he was at South Dakota State. That kid was released and then signed with Drake.

But I think we'll see much more of that kind of movement because of NIL, and the demise of the National Letter of Intent.
 
But with Pettigrew, there was no such thing- it is pretty well known he was unhappy with playing opportunity at Nevada, Bradley & EMU and left looking for greener pastures

Belmont's Isaiah Walker is transferring to Xavier. He becomes the 3rd MVC transfer to choose Xavier. The other two are Gabriel Pozzato of Evansville & All Wright of Valparaiso.

one of the Valley's best scorers, Ryan Conwell, transferred to Xavier last year. He played a ton of minutes & took a ton of shots, but
apparently he wasn't fully satisfied there - because now he's in the portal to transfer again to his 4th school in 4 years.
Xavier oughta just sign a 1-year player-rental agreement with the MVC, kinda like the Euro soccer teams & leagues do with each other.

No he left because Coach left for Texas, just like Schertz left for SLU. Every year he has had a coaching change.
 
Murray State 6'7" guard A.J. Ferguson, who started all 33 games for Murray State this past season, entered the transfer portal before it closed. Ferguson is a senior who played one season at Division II East Central University (Oklahoma), then played 2 seasons at SIU, and played this past season (2024-25) at Murray State. He averaged 11.3 ppg in 2024-25. By current NCAA rules, he has no more eligibility left.
