MVC players entering the transfer portal

Ok if Samage Teel gets another year how is it a question if Christian does ? Christian was a RS Freshman at Lemoyne in 2021-2, then 3 years at BU. So in 2020-21 he redshirted just like Teel-in addition LeMoyne was a school that did not even play in 2020-21 due to Covid.

So we already have 22% of the MVC roster (assuming scholarship players) in the portal, and none from Bradley, Belmont, and ISUred yet. Wonder how close to 50% the MVC will end up after everything is settled.

Is this just using the total roster numbers, or players that are not out of eligibility? I would think the number is higher if you exclude players with no more eligibility.

Correct. Assuming that around 20%-25% of the Valley players would be out of eligibility, the number of transfers will be more than 50% when all is done.

Yep, the 22% is just the total % of players now in the portal divided by the amount of scholarships in the MVC (156), and doesn't take into account players without eligibility leaving their respective programs. So yes, technically, the % is much higher given the significant number of players that leave each year due to the exhaustion of eligibility.

SIU’s Antwuan Massey in the portal
was a stud big man in juco, started 12 games at SIU but did not produce much

also SIU Tyler Bey

InSU Merritt Alderink

Drake forward Cameron Manyawu has entered the portal. He is a sophomore with 2 years of eligibility left.
It will be interesting to see where he decides to go. He might be a bit undersized for a "4" or "5" in the Big Ten, would might get more playing time at another mid-major. But NIL money will probably be his deciding factor. Will he get an offer from new Iowa head coach McCollum?
