Bradley to play in the 2025 NIT

Bradley has accepted a bid to the NIT. "We're going to play in the NIT", says Coach Wardle - https://www.pjstar.com/story/sports...m-going-to-postseason-tournament/82321765007/

From Dave Eminian of the PJ Star-
The 26-8 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament runner-up will play in the National Invitation Tournament, accepting an automatic bid under the tournament's new rules.
"Everybody can be calm now," Bradley coach Brian Wardle said Wednesday, laughing. "We're going to play in the NIT. We always were. We're excited for the competition. We're getting back to work tomorrow."

Of course I am going, but if Navy wins tonight, I hope BU's game is Wednesday so I can make the probable First Four game on Wednesday.

Great news, never wanted the last game to leave a sour taste. Will jump at the chance to see them play at least one more game, maybe more than one.

Let’s win this thing. Get back to shooting 3’s and playing the defense we’re capable of!

Happy Bradley decides to play in the NIT! I was at last year's NIT victory over Loyola! I would love to see them get to Indianapolis to play at Butlers Hinkle Fieldhouse! I've seen Connecticut play their and it was thrilling! I will go if BU makes it! I saw possible first round matches and only Iowa Intrigues me because they play in a very high big ten conference! Even if I don't go to peoria, I will listen on the Radio! Go Braves!!!!

It would be odd if anyone did. I think it's ALL 4 seniors or none of them...and I'm betting it's the former seeing as it's such a tight-knit group across the roster.

The 2 guys I am PRAYING stay next season are Demarion and Ja'Quan...and God forbid if they did transfer, hopefully they would wait until after the season officially ends.

Does anybody know when they will start selling tickets for the NIT game coming up. Or is BU waiting to find out the date, time, and opponent. :doubt:

Hey Dave, seeds are announced on the 16th, so tickets should go on sale shortly after that. You can buy tickets for the semis and finals now, but not sure who would do that before seeing the brackets!

Yes, tickets will go on sale shortly after the announcements of the teams and match-ups on Sunday night. Bradley usually gives season ticket holders first priority for the first day, then open sales after that.

Do you recall if season ticket holders have the option of purchasing our same seats?

Tommy - if by some miracle we get a 2nd round home game on Sat or Sun, Jaylon and I may be making the trek to Peoria to watch!

Predictions - for what they’re worth:
1) Not all 4 seniors play. A couple don’t have the heart for the grind any longer.
2) I think Burch leaves. He was the man in HS and thinks (or his people do) he should be that guy again. And there are a couple of hot shot freshman coming. I think he’s been recruited over.

From what I understand the top 3-NIL paid players will not participate in NiT…

The NIL should be agreements clearly outlining expectations for attending practices, team meetings, media sessions, and mentoring younger players along with post season activities… ensuring their leadership extends beyond just games.

Programs could also implement incentives or consequences tied to participation, making it clear that being a leader on the team includes more than just individual performance. If senior players with major NIL deals are opting out, it raises questions about the balance between personal branding and team commitment.

A little off topic ….

but during the MVC tourney, there was debate - and even some doubt that Drake would get an at-large bid if they lost - a team that is 28-3, 17-3 in conference, NET in Lo 50’s and undefeated, 6-0, in Quad 1 & 2

but just now as Indiana got clobbered & booted in their first game of the Big 10 Tourney - all the talk was that they should be comfortably in the NCAA Tourney. They are 19-13, 10-10 in conference, 4-13 in Quad 1, and NET in lo 50’s.

Can some help me with this logic?

For comparison, Drake's NET rank was 56, with an overall Strength of Schedule of 142, and a non-conference SOS of 275.
Last year, Indiana State had a NET rank of 28, and they had Strength of Schedule of 116 overall, and a non-conference SOS of 202, and they did not get an at-large bid.
Drake would have been unlikely to get an at-large bid this year.
