2025 BU commit- Matthew Zobrist

Bill Rudiger was from Manlius, Illinois. He played for Bradley in 2 seasons, the 1942-43 season and the 1945-46 season. Bradley did not play for 2 years in 1943-44 and 1944-45, so I suspect Bill might have spent those couple years in the military and returned to Bradley for the 1945-46 season.

His son Audie Rudiger, also from Manlius, Illinois, is recorded to have played in only one season for Bradley, 1976-77, which was his freshman year. Back then, Bradley had a freshman team, but players could occasionally be added to the varsity roster.

The 1976-77 team included Roger Phegley, Bobby Humbles.

Metamora will play Kankakee HS and BU recruit Lincoln Williams on Tuesday, Mar. 4 at Washington HS

Metamora wins the Class 3A Dunlap Regional final over Morton in a low-scoring game, 45-43. Both teams struggled to score for much of the game.
Matthew Zobrist had 10 first half points, but he shot poorly in the second half, and his only second half points were a pair of late free throws for a total of 12 points.
Ashton Grieves lead Metamora with 15 points, and his shooting carried Metamora in the second half. Metamora is now 27-6.
For Morton, Wes Gudeman had 16, and Tripp Rugaard (brother of Bradley freshman Gus Rugaard) had 12. Their season ends with a record of 25-7.

Lincoln Williams? New name..

Lincoln Williams? New name..

Here is a post from April, 2024 -
Lincoln Williams, 6'5", class of 2026, from Kankakee HS. He visited Bradley last spring on an unofficial visit. - https://www.bradleyfans.com/forum/s...-2025-and-beyond-recruits?p=519975#post519975

Several rankings have him as the # 1 recruit in the class of 2026 in Illinois - https://chicago.suntimes.com/high-s...eports-list-of-top-12-juniors-in-chicago-area
>> https://prephoops.com/2025/01/updated-2026-illinois-rankings-2/

I expect every Bradley fan to read and memorize all the names in this recruiting thread like LongTimeFan does. By tomorrow. :)

Lincoln Williams was at the preseason Bradley Red-White way back in October 2023 for an unofficial visit, when he was just starting his sophomore season.
He's since blown up and getting some big offers.

Prob nobody remembers this post, but I chatted with him and took a picture of him with Matthew Zobrist that night at Ren-Col

I'm hearing that Matthew got hurt in the 2nd half, but stayed in the game. That might have something to do with his low production in the 2nd half. Hopefully he is OK and recovers by Tuesday when they play in the sectional semifinal game in Washington..

Wanted to clarify about the Rudigers. Bill was Audie's uncle, not his father. Audie's dad was Bob Rudiger (Bill's younger brother). Audie was a freshman walk-on for Joe Stowell in the 1976-1977 season which was 3 or 4 years after freshman teams were disbanded.

Thanks for the info. It's hard to find that kind of background stuff. So take the Rudigers of Manlius off the list of fathers & sons in Bradley history.
