MVC tourney

The St. Louis Embassy Suites showed no rooms available as of this morning, but I notice now they are showing several types of rooms available.
However, be ready for "sticker shock". Here are their prices. Friday night of next week for a single queen-bed room is at $577 per night with a non-refundable reservation and a Hilton Honors discount- https://www.hilton.com/en/book/rese...-08&departureDate=2024-03-09&room1NumAdults=2

Ridiculous.

Their prices have already dropped a little. Still price gouging - https://www.hilton.com/en/book/rese...-08&departureDate=2024-03-09&room1NumAdults=2

I would probably find an Airbnb with those hotel prices.

There are other hotels for half to a third of that price, and even less if you don't stay downtown. But a lot of fans like to stay where the team stays. Unfortunately, the Embassy Suites management seems to know that and they appear to be trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of the fans.

From what I was told, there is a very large "holiday" convention in town (Christmas decoration suppliers/retailers and such) at the convention center (which is very close to the Embassy Suites) this week. This is why we are seeing less hotel availability and high prices.....and just to add fuel to the fire, St. Louis City has a home soccer game Saturday night. The MVC tournament won't be the only show in town this weekend in STL.

MVC Tournament Bracket- Times are Eastern time zone - note that the first two rounds (Thursday and Friday games) are also on the MVC-TV Network (NBCSports Chicago and Bally Sports)

The MVC post-season awards will be announced this week prior to the tournament games, and it will probably be similar to last year. Last year, with expansion to 12 teams and the tournament games starting at noon on Thursday, the MVC changed their format for announcing the awards. They announced the specialty awards (All-Bench & Most Improved teams) on the Tuesday prior to the games. Then they announced the POY, All-MVC teams, DPOY, NOY, FOY, COY, etc., at a dinner on the Wednesday evening prior to the tournament games.

Yes, the Thursday (March 7) and Friday (March 8 ) games are all on the MVC-TV Network, which includes NBCSports Chicago and Bally Sports Midwest.

NBCSports Chicago are not carrying the games on Thursday. They are carrying the White Sox game in the afternoon and the Bulls that evening. Bally Sports Midwest is carrying all of the games both days. NBSSports Chicago is carrying all the games on Friday.

I think they have an alt. channel.

I think the MLS team is on the road Saturday night.

All Thursday games will still be on NBC Sports Chicago Plus. You just have to use the Plus channel.
