So as most everyone knows, I have a Youtube channel up where I post BU games. I've had some trouble with my video converter this year, which is why games haven't been posted as quickly as normal and games that aren't on ESPN+ that I need to get from Xfinity have been blocked from recording this year and I haven't been able to figure out a way around in.

Are there any tech geeks out there that might know of a way to work around the Xfinity block on recording their video? I've tried a few different software programs with no luck and recording just a portion of the screen doesn't get around the block either. I'm hoping to get these tournament games recorded, but not sure how I'll do it. Most likely would be blocked for copyright infringement, but I would still be able to get it up on my Rumble channel (fyi - NCAA game against Pitt is on Rumble and there are no edits done on the Rumble videos, so better option than Youtube if you want to see it exactly as recorded).

If any of you are tech geeks and can help me figure this out, I'd appreciate it!

I have also been a beneficiary of Tommy's graciuos efforts so if anybody out there can help him please do. I am like Little Brave. I have no tech savvy at all
 
I have enjoyed watching your Bradley old school videos in particular Tommy. Thank you for taking the time to post all of these great videos.
 
Honestly the easiest way to do this would be to instead subscribe to an IPTV service and use something like Tivimate to record the games.

I'll let you decide on the morality of it.

There is also yt-dlp, you can export your cookie from the browser and just download the stream directly. But it requires command line knowledge of Linux. It does support ESPN+.

I am testing out downloading from espn+ and can confirm this works. You can download the game directly from the website.

Yeah, I don’t have issues with games on ESPN+. It’s the games that I can’t get from there that I’ve had trouble with being blocked.

I can't test it out as I don't have a comcast subscription but it would work similarly. You would export your Xfinity auth cookie from your browser, use it with yt-dlp, and then use the URL for the video.

I am about 85% sure it would work for Xfinity web streams, but without a login to test myself I can't be 100%.

Bottom line is if you can watch it in your browser, it can be ripped.
