Transfer portal players

Don't be surprised if all 5 starters return... Ja'Shon is a huge keep and a strong power forward. Bradley will need a replacement for Mikey Howell & most likely Ari along with a wing/shooting guard. I would expect Zek to get a lot more playing time. Hopefully they can find another (consistent) scorer...

Maybe, but Ari came back last year with chronic feet issues and was limited all year. Jason has chronic brain injury. I'm sure he didn't get a 'strong assurance ' 1 week after he was still held out of full contact. We all agree it's awesome he's back!

One more MVC player enters the transfer portal- Evansville's Emmette Page.
He was a junior college transfer who only played in 2 games last season as a junior, and played in 14 games this season for an average of 2.1 ppg in 6.7 minutes per game.

Shamar Givance of Evansville enters the transfer portal. He is a senior who has one additional season of eligibility left.

He should get a lot of interest. Givance was Evansville's leading scorer averaging 13.7 ppg. He also averaged 4.4 rpg and 3.9 assists per game (3rd highest in the MVC).
 
One new addition today to the list of MVC players in the transfer portal- Missouri State senior guard Demarcus Sharp.

Sharp came to Missouri State last season (2020-21) as an Juco All American (Colby College), and was a starter for most games, averaging 8.2 ppg.
He was injured most of this season (2021-22) and only played in 8 games, and started 5. He would probably have 2 years of eligibility left, since he qualifies for a redshirt year this season, plus he'd have the extra Covid year.

Ja'Monta Black was Missouri State's 3rd leading scorer behind only Isiaih Mosley and Gaige Prim. He shot 39% from three and made more three pointers than anyone on the Missouri State team. And as houstonbrave said, he is a long time close friend of Isiaih Mosley. They attended the same high school together, won a state championship, and were both recruited in the same class to come to Missouri State. There is speculation that this move increases the chances that top scorer Isiaih Mosley might also consider transferring, despite getting paid by boosters in a NIL deal designed to keep him at MSU.

One other new MVC player was also added to the list of MVC transfers today, Nick Hittle, a 6'10" redshirt-freshman at Indiana State. He was recruited and committed to Indiana State under Greg Lansing, but redshirted his first year (2020-21). This year (2021-22), as a redshirt freshman. he played very little under new head coach Josh Schertz. He appeared in 16 games, averaged just 6.5 minutes per game, and averaged 2.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg. He shot 41% from three (11-27).

Another MVC transfer- Valparaiso 6'8" freshman guard Keyondre Young has entered the transfer portal. He played in only 8 games before a wrist and thumb injury ended his season. He would be eligible for a redshirt season. In the 8 games he played, he averaged 4.6 ppg and sot 40% from three (8-20).

I really like Edwards and thought he was extremely athletic and smart with the ball. I think this is a pretty big loss for Valpo and I can't help but feel bad for Lottich.
