Ari Boya had surgery and is done for the season

According to the PJstar Boya has had surgery on his foot and is done for the season, they expect him to be good to go this summer for next season. At this point in the year seeing where we are I don't think having him back would have helped at all. I think players like him and previously Koch Bar are really under appreciated. Yeah they don't put up a lot of impressive stats other than rebounds and blocks, but they do so much more in a game than they get credit for. Boya scares me as this isn't the first time he has been hurt, I hope he can make it through next season as we are going to need all the help we can get.

If he can make it through next season in good health, it would be nice if he would consider the extra year granted by the NCAA.

A player is eligible to take a redshirt year if they played in no more than 30% of the team's games. Bradley has played 25 games, so far, and likely, they will end the season with 28 or 29 games played. Ari played in 9 games, so unfortunately, he has exceeded the maximum allowable number of games.
It's possible the NCAA might waive that rule, since a lot of teams were robbed of games because of Covid. But that is part of the reason the NCAA already announced that everyone who competed this year will get an extra season.
I don't think the NCAA would allow a player to take a redshirt season plus get the extra year for playing this season. So as I understand it, he'd be eligible for 2 more seasons.

Geesshh! Wow! That’s a real surprise! What else could happen to this team this year? Wait a minute. I take that back!,,,

More icing on the cake as the season of promise fades into the sunset as one I would like to forget. I live for Bradley basketball but this season cannot end fast enough! ;-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, Coach, but after we win the conference tournament and the NCAA, wouldn't that be 36 games?

:):):) Yes, I guess that is true. :):):) I like your thinking. :)

But, I think the NCAA actually only counts regular season games plus one additional game in the conference tournament.

Wardle needs to find a replacement for Boya immediately. I love Boya but he can't be counted on for a full season with his foot problems. Broken bones in feet are hard enough to heal properly for a normal size person, now imagine being 7' 250 pounds with small feet. Wardle can't afford to get halfway through a season and lose his time protector. His defense is built on gambling and scrambling while having a stud like Boya to protect the rim when players get beat scrambling.
