Selection Weekend Trivia-Play if you wish. No prizes!

Bradley’s last three NCAA tournament appearances have been in 1996, 2006, and 2019.

Name the only high school that has alumni on all 3 teams. For a bonus point name the players.

And for a double bonus - what other thing besides their High School did all 3 players also have in common ? :doubt: :doubt: :D

Metamora high school. Aaron Zobrist, Danny Adams and Nate Kennell .
they're all good 3 point shooters?

Congratulations!!! We have a winner!! Your prize is.....well read the thread....nothing!!! Lol! I’m out with an illness so I will post some more trivia all weekend! Thanks for playing! Let’s have some fun!!!

Next question...Bradley just finished the MVC season as the leader in attendance this season. The Peoria Civic Center has been the home of the Braves since 1982. Four part question.

1) Who was the President of Bradley when they moved to the Civic Center?

2) What future MVC nemesis did they play in that first game at PCC?

3) What was the name of the arena at the time?

4) What experimental rule participation was declined by the opposing coach in that game?

Good luck!!!

1) Dr. Jerry Abegg
2) Loyola Ramblers
3) This is a tough one- My recollection is that is was simply called "The Arena"
4) Three point shot? There were a couple conferences that experimented with the three point shot in the 1982-83 season.

Well done DC!!!

1) Dr. Abegg ✅
2) Loyola Chicago ✅
3) Close. Peoria Civic Arena. Mayor Dick Carver, the then Peoria mayor and later the namesake of the arena was at the game and was presented an autographed ball by Dr. Abegg.
4) Yes, the 3 point shot!! ✅ Then Loyola coach Gene Sullivan declined to use the 3 pt shot even though the new arena was equipped with the lines.......

stay tuned!!! More to come!!! Feel free to add to the trivia anyone. Or i will just keep them rolling.

Bradley’s last NCAA tournament appearance was lead off by a wire to wire domination of Bill Self’s Kansas Jayhawks who suffered their second consecutive 1st round bow out. Two part question.

1) What other BU upset Kansas in 2005 as a 14 seed?

2) What is the name of the Assistant coach who left Kansas to become a head coach in 2007. (Hint: We weren’t able to shake him as he went to an MVC school)

This one is a little easier, but still a challenge-
1) Bucknell U.
2) Tim Jankovich

This one may take a little research. The Furman Paladins were made famous many moons ago by Frank Selvy who scored 100 points in a game.

This year they have surged as a formidable mid major, but have found themselves firmly on the bubble. Some Bracketologists have them as one of the First 4 out after getting upset in their Conference semifinals to UNC-Greensboro. One part question.

1) What is the connection between Furman and Bradley Coach Brian Wardle?

Hint: This was a real fun question to put together. There is a connection. When you see it in Hindsight you will see the pleasure in putting this question together.

Furman is 25-7 and won't make the cut. That's rough.

Niko Medved coached Furman when Richey was his assistant coach and Wardle played Drake when Medved was coach?

Not the angle I am looking at but good research. More current Furman connection to Coach Wardle’s past.

Hint: HINDsight will be be fun.

ANYONE ELSE???

I know, Tommy. Crazy. Their odds may have improved this weekend. They’re really good and they spent some time in the Top 25. The Last Bracketology I saw had them as one of the First 4 out, though.

Matt Rafferty of Furman went to Hinsdale Central, the same high school attended by Brian Wardle? Was that the Central hint you were giving?

And apparently, Wardle was the all-time leading scorer at Hinsdale, while Rafferty is the all-time leader in rebounds, blocks, and steals.

WOO HOO!!! You got it Tommy!!!

Matt Rafferty, who is Furman’s leading scorer and 1st team all Southern conference selection, attended Hinsdale Central. While at Hinsdale Central, Matt Rafferty scored 1,564 points. That was good enough for 2nd most in school history. The leading scorer, BRIAN WARDLE, had 1,632 points. Great job Tommy!!!

more to come!!
