Does the BU victory over Illinois encourage a rematch between the two sooner than later? 'Bragging Rights' in the Heartland can be loud and significant.

It might work if one or more corporate sponsorers put in enough $ to make it happen, but I'm guessing that the Illini want more than we can give in terms of gate revenues. Or startup some form of a St Jude classic to get more TV involvement? That's exactly what I was thinking last night, you would think they would want to get the 'Bragging Rights' back. Maybe a home and home, and don't play them unless it's a home and home. And since now that we have the 'Bragging Rights', the first home game would be in Peoria next season. Or maybe what we did when we had that 3 year series with them, play home and home, and a game at the United Center in Chicago - I was at that game.

No, I think it just reminded them why they dont want to play us........
With a sales background, I work with my reps to sell the positive aspects of our products and not to dwell on downgrading the competition. Our customers seem to find that approach refreshing. Especially when our product is far superior. Just a thought.
I guess you need to do what you preach to your sales staff. Not all of your posts have been positive!
Unfortunately, this is true. After the game, Coach Weber told people he would never again play in a midseason tournament where he could end up playing another Illinois school. I suspect this also means he won't be willing to schedule such a school any time soon.
and why would he? This series/game would do nothing good for the U of I.
If you win, you gain little with the RPI. If you lose, well it's obviously bad in many ways.
Illinois gains nothing from a BU series.

Bullcrap. All the other BT schools play in-state rivals every year because they aren't chickensh*ts. Illinois has had this baseless fear of any team in this state with a pulse since the Henson era. Their logic is "we have nothing to gain". Baloney! How about gaining experience for your team against a non-cupcake team? It's gutless is all it is.
