College Basketball Video Game

Does anyone have the 09 versions of EA Sports NCAA Basketball? I was wondering if Bradley was respresented well.

I have both the 2K8 and EA NCAA 08, haven't bothered with EA's 09 version because the 2k8 version is 10 times better, and they can't make it anymore because of EA's stupid monopoly strategy (like Madden).

As much as I don't like EA, I don't think the absence of College Hoops 2k9 is because EA signed an exclusive agreement. I just read 2k sports decided not to spend to develop a game for 2009.

2k8 was much better than NCAA 2008 or NCAA 2009.

The Bradley teams are never really accurate in the games (and I own a ton of these). I know one season Stemler was the best player on the team and Ruffin couldn't make a shot from anywhere on the court. Matt Salley was unstoppable too, which they must not have built in the "miss the bunnies" into his stats.

At least they've improved some aspects, like getting the our fight song into the game eventually as well as a decent depiction of Carver Arena. And like you others, I won't touch the EA game.

Like everyone else here, I was always a much bigger fan of the 2k games than EA's. It seems like basketball is the lone sport EA was just never very good at developing.

Unfortunately since 2k didn't come out with a game this year, I went out and had to buy the new EA game. I have it for PS3 and it's not terrible. It's certainly a major upgrade over the previous years. Bradley's roster isn't quite right in terms of rankings, but it is definitely the most accurate EA has ever managed to get it. All the players are actually there this time including Lavin and Phillips (who are rated much to highly btw). Unfortunately Egolf probably isn't rated highly enough and AT is rated too highly.

I went through and edited the players to what I thought was more representative of their real skills, and it didn't really take too terribly long to fix the inaccuracies.

Most EA sports games, especially basketball, have gotten progressively worse. I remember when NBA Live and March Madness were fun games and also slightly realistic. Now it is getting more unrealistic and the gameplay is more complicated.

I got a PS3 recently so I picked up College Hoops 2K8 for $20 used. Haven't really played it too much as I was waiting for someone to come out with edited rosters for the PS3 version. There was a set out that was sort of updated, but it made the game freeze at the end of the first season. I guess another set got finished this week, and it is supposed to work correctly, so I'm going to check it out one of these days.

By the way, nice avatar, Scouter.

Do they have Carver Arena ?

They do have Carver. EA made a concerted effort to nail every court perfectly, and Bradley's court looks dead on. As for the rest of the arena, it is simply a default "Bowl" shape. NCAA is much better than in previous years, but it still has nothing to match the 2k Games

Now for some noteable things that urk me every time I play the game.
-Why have they not updated Bradley's jerseys since the Sweet 16 run. They still have us with these jerseys. http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2006/writers/stewart_mandel/03/18/bradley.kansas/p1.obryant.sommerville.gett.jpg
-Why can't AT and DC be half as good as they are in the video game
-There is a terrible game glitch that online players love to exploit, where if you drive the baseline, down low players will literally OLE you like you were a raging bull seeing red.
