reports are that Stainbrook, who was pursued by Bradley, hurt his knee while practicing back in December -then was struggling to get better and unable to practice - and finally in late February underwent surgery - and has been on crutches since..
It is hoped he'll be ready to play before next fall...

Xavier graduates a lot...has very little returning experience...and they have already named their TEAM CAPTAINS for next fall...

There's a discussion on the premium Xavier board about Matt Stainbrook - after having lost a lot of weight and dropped from over 300 lbs, down to 230-240...now it's being said he has gained a lot of it back.
Even though his official weight on the Xavier roster is 263 lbs, some say he could be bigger - 275-280...
One other note - some who have viewed their preseason practices say the most impressive player is a newcomer they have named Remy Abell...


BTW -- Xavier did just sign one more player who is active on the roster...

Xavier held their MUSKETEER MADNESS tonight and there was a 15 minute Blue-White scrimmage..
5,000 zealous fans cheered as Blue Team star Remy Abell stole the show and led all players with 14 points..6-7 shooting and 2-3 from 3-pt
Matt Stainbrook led White with eight points on 3-for-6 shooting plus 3 rebs

Abell also made it to the finals of their 3-pt shooting contest and was edged out
