OT- OJ Simpson soon to be a free man

Parole board unanimously approves parole for OJ Simpson
he will be released from prison in early October

he served 9 years for a strong-arm robbery in which he did not have a gun -
(his defense was that he was just trying to retrieve his own property that had been stolen from him and had two security guards with him who were legally armed - which he claims he was trying to do it to comply with the legal judgement against him in the civil case)
..and it's widely felt that he got the strong sentence due to the judge's belief he was guilty in his prior charge in which he was acquitted.
His record was clean otherwise - no other convictions in his life.
He stated he would like to live in Florida.
Gotta believe he's not going to disappear ...

Amazingly, the 2 guys who were with O.J. during the 2007 O.J. robbery incident, and who carried the guns, received only probation, and neither ever spent a single day in jail.
On the other hand, O.J., who had a clean record, was never guilty of any crimes prior to that incident, and who did not have a gun, got the 33 year sentence. So it does appear the botched murder trial, which should not have been a factor in his sentence for the robbery did contribute to the ridiculously severe sentence for a "first-time offender", considering his armed cohorts got away with probation..
