Time to turn up the intensity of play. Hopefully Bradley can be in contention for the Valley title. Baffles me on how our starting center can play a GF as inst a Div. III team and come away with only one rebound. Will need him to be more of a factor going into conference play. Not demeaning him in any way, he can play better and hope he does starting Thursday night.

3 things we need to do better on Thursday night in order to win, Rebound, shoot the 3 point shot much better and make your free throws. I will add limit Wagner to 14 points or lower.

Interview of Indiana State Head Coach Matthew Graves by Andy Katz-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNpixaKYSdk

Coach Graves is recovering from a triple coronary artery bypass operation and has not yet returned to coaching games, though he did attend their game at Milwaukee Sunday. He will likely attend the game against Bradley Thursday, but he didn't say whether he was ready to return to coaching duties.

One factor that could be significant in this game... Indiana State's top 2 scorers are Camp Wagner, a 6'6" junior guard (12.5 ppg) and Ian Scott, a 6'7" grad-transfer forward from NAIA Grace College in Indiana (12.4 ppg).
In the Sycamores' last game Sunday at Milwaukee, Ian Scott played only about 4½ minutes. He started and was taken out less than 2 minutes into the game (at 18:12). He returned to the game with 11:42 left in the first half, but then came out at 8:57, an did not return again. It was said to be due to "illness". Indiana State won the game 70-68 despite Scott being scoreless. There has been no word yet whether Scott will be available to play Thursday against Bradley.

Hoping the couple weeks of practices means we see some new lineups. We need to get more shots up and more rebounds in each game in my opinion, though our average field goal attempts per game is on par with prior years. More speed in transition with this group specifically.
Bradley is currently last in the conference in rebounds/game. 2nd to last in assists per game.

If there is any good news about tonight's matchup, it is that Indiana State is not one of the better rebounding teams in the MVC, either.

The game tonight will be on WHOI-TV, channel 19.

For over-the-air antenna users, it will be on channel 19.1 (or 19.5) in Peoria area
https://www.25newsnow.com/programming/schedule/

For Xfinity cable customers, the Xfinity channel guide shows it on channels 220 and 1019 (the ROAR Network)-

It is not on Xfinity channel 8 or 908, which are the channels that carry the WHOI-ABC programming.

Suggestion: If you have voice command, try saying "College Basketball- Bradley at Indiana State" at 6:00 pm tonight.

...January 1, 2025- Bradley won 89-88 in Overtime thanks to Duke Deen's heroics- Recap Box score
the game last year was one to remember....
it was one of the two or 3 WORST OFFICIATED GAMES in all my memory....in fact- a full year later I am still angry whenever I think about it...
The Indiana State coaching staff picked up on the fact that the refs were calling every single bit of contact near the basket as a defensive foul.
So, even tho their main game plan was to launch three's, and they were pretty good at it - they switched their game plan ....
and on EVERY freaking possession, they just put heir heads down and drove into the lane - intentionally creating contact and being
gifted by the refs every time with free throws...

In the end, they shot a whopping 36 free throws (30-36)- so that even tho Bradley outscored them 78-59 on points scored in-game,
it still took Duke's play in OT to win.
Even Coach Wardle said he'd never seen a game like that.

We adjusted and that tactic did not work two weeks later in Peoria- not that they didn't try anyway and still got 28 trips to the FT line,
but Bradley played actual, real basketball and ran plays to win 118-65
