Early 2027 projection

Well, here we go.........
this site gives projection for every DI team in 2027 and updates when players leave or are added to rosters....LINK

When I first logged on- Bradley was listed as the #208 best team in DI and 10th best in the 11-team MVC, but while I was
viewing the site - it updated and changed Bradley to #182.... then re-updated again to #203, but appears to have added Montana Wheeler back onto the roster

This page allows you to search for any team- LINK
It appears to update and change about every 10 minutes.

They seem to rank the MVC as follows
1- ISU #35 overall
2- UIC #51 overall
3- Valpo #56 overall
4- Drake #79 overall
5- Belmont #95 overall
6- Murray State #129 overall
7- Indiana State #138 overall
8- SIU #152 overall
9- UNI #185
10- Bradley #203 overall
11- Evansville #322 overall

Let's update this as Bradley lands 4 pretty good portal additions!
well, they now have shifted Bradley up to #154 overall and #8 in the MVC. Whoever is running the site is on top of the latest developments,
as they have Georgi, Grill and Payton already rated & added to the database.
BUT I think his ratings will turn out to be lousy, as he has Georgi rated as one of our lowest players just because he's slotted as a freshman.
To additionally show how silly some of their ratings are, Loyola had a terrible year, finished dead last in the A-10 but still lost all their starters
except one part time starter and have added nobody, yet the have them rated ar #98 and 5th in the A-10!

and they rate NOAH WILLIAMS surprisingly low.

They now have the Valley rated this way

1- UIC #69 overall
2- Valpo #71 overall
3- ISU #99 overall
4- Belmont #119 overall
5- Drake #128 overall

6- Murray State #129 overall
7- SIU #132 overall
8- Bradley #154 overall
9- UNI #215 overall

10- Evansville #239 overall
11- Indiana State #268 overall

this site now has Bradley projected as 10th place, barely above last place Evansville
Somehow I don't think they're going to be that bad

Do these guys no more then we do?????
I like the looks of this team and I think on paper we are better then last year.
I'm like others, I dont put a lot of stock in poles this early.

Agreed, with what Wardle has added this year, I would not be at all surprised with a top 3 finish next year.

I inquired about this site’s ratings and got the following polite response:

Thank you! Totally fair question.

Right now, the ratings are still very much a snapshot in time. Rosters are
incomplete, and we have not finished the full rating process yet. At this
stage, the numbers are based almost entirely on individual player ratings.

There are still a few important layers to come before we release our
preseason ratings at the end of July: a revision period, a deeper review of
JUCO/D2/international players, and a final roster construction adjustment
that can add points based on how a team fits together.

Every D1 player is evaluated through the same model. Freshmen are held to
the same freshman model, and JUCO/D2/international players go through their
own process as well. That part is still ongoing. There are always blind
spots, and it’s never going to be perfect, but the goal is to keep the
process as consistent as possible.

I will say, we felt pretty good about how the MVC ratings played out last
season. We had UNI and UIC both in the top three, and they ended up meeting
in the conference final.

All that said, Bradley has several JUCO/D2/international pieces, so there
is still a real chance they move up as those players get evaluated more
closely over the next couple of months.

Appreciate you checking out the site!

I agree. Other than predicting that ISU red should finish first, no one knows how new players to teams will play successfully. It is a crapshoot. I respect how U of Illinois Chicago advanced in development as the season went on

Re- the original post in this thread...

I looked at all the ratings this guy Shooty has for all the players on rosters in the MVC for 2026-27
His rating system gives a numerical score for offense & defense then an average of the two.
The highest rated players (on top teams like Duke, Michigan, etc.) are in the upper 80's...85 to 88...

The highest rated player in the entire MVC has a score of 80.
Chase Walker, Roman Domon, Rakim Chaney (Valpo) and Mekhi Lowery (UIC) all have 80.
Several others are between 75-80. UIC has five guys rated between 75-80, and Murray State, Valpo, ISU & InSU all have guys
in the upper 70's.
Beyond that- the guy doesn't think much of anyone on the teams in the lower half of the MVC.
Bradley, for example, doesn't have a single player whose rating is over 72 (Kyle Grill is 72)
Time will tell, but Lowery averaged 8 ppg for UIC and gets a higher rating than Pettigrew, Kinzinger or AJ Casey.

What a joke. Mekhi Lowery rated as one of the top 4 highest rated player in the MVC? What world is the guy living in?
There are dozens of MVC players I would pick for my team ahead of Mekhi Lowery. Don't get me wrong, I think Lowery is a nice complimentary player and he contributed to UIC's fine season in 2025-26, but he's a role player, a pretty good defender and a below-average offensive player.
He averaged 8.1 ppg, ranking just 5th on his team, barely ahead of Abdul Momoh (6.9 ppg). His 8.1 ppg ranked 47th in the MVC in 2025-26, and would have ranked 7th if he was on Bradley. His career averages are 5.7 ppg and 4.9 rpg, 49.8% overall and 11.1% (just 1-9) from three, and his FT% is an atrocious 53.7% (Shooty must ignore the shooting percentages). He is one of the better defenders on UIC, but, IMO, he's not an elite defender, and he did not make the MVC All-Defense team.
He was nowhere near the top in any of the offensive or defensive advanced metrics. And the only categories that he was near the top were fouls. He lead the MVC in total personal fouls (110) and in personal fouls per game (3.1 PF/game). Shooty must ignore those stats, too.
