Pretty highly rated kid. Some rankings have him in the top 50-100 nationally. Very athletic, 6'8" and still growing. He supposedly has offers already from Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin, and DePaul. But I heard he likes Bradley.

Don't bother. There has been a late change of plans. Due to a schedule conflict, Alex Foster will not be visiting today (June 23). He will be in for his visit next week.
 
While we absolutely love the 2013 class in Illinois as a whole, two players who we are afraid may be victims of the "Chicago hype machine" as of now are 6'7 power forward Russell Woods from Leo and Alex Foster from De LaSalle. They both pass the look test hands down but more often than not haven't gotten the results that one would expect for prospects who have received immense hype at an early age. That was the case yet again at the DePaul camp...

Actually, the guys at Illinois Prep Bullseye were among those who were heaping some of that "immense hype at an early age". Now they seem to be criticizing the very thing they do so well.

Alex Foster, the 6'7 class of 2013 forward from De LaSalle Institute in Chicago, led his team to a thrilling one point victory in what was undoubtedly the top game of the day. This was the first time in quite a while in which we were able to see Foster showcase his individual talent and he did not disappoint. In fact, with his athleticism, ability to run the floor and finish, face up and knock down open jump shots and get after it inside, we are starting to think that Foster may have even greater up side than another member of the "big three" in Illinois from the 2013 class--that being 6'8 Tommy Hamilton from Whitney Young. Like Hamilton, Foster needs to learn to go hard on every possession, but at the present time we believe that he may be the #2 ranked class of 2013 prospect in the state, ranking only behind 6'7 forward Jabari Parker from Simeon.

This long and athletic forward has a good basketball body for such a young player. He slithers between defenders for nice finishes or drawing fouls. Foster also displayed the ability to rebound with authority in a crowd. He runs the floor very well and is quick to the ball. Foster has developing good hands and makes plays with his consistent effort.

Alex is a lefty post player that is smooth and talented. He is a little raw right now but is developing a face-up basket game. He has range on his shot right now to 15 feet. He is long and athletic and is very good transition. Tremendous amount of upside.

At 6-foot-7 and 215 pounds, Foster is working to become more of a complete player. After always playing inside, now he is learning to step outside and he is becoming more confident in his game facing the basket.

the other two parts of the BIG THREE have yet to sign...
Jabari Parker will commit & sign in the spring - however there are rumors that he may take a Mormon mission trip which will occupy 2 years then he can go straight to the NBA if he stays in shape.

The other part of that legendary junior hi trio - Tommy Hamilton - is at IMG putting up unimpressive numbers.
